Title: Welding Tank
Post by: beveldrive on July 01, 2009, 07:51:28 PM
Hi,
I have a spare K7 tank and want to smooth the top and fit a monza typr cap. Need to mig a piece across the aperture where the lockable flap now sits. Any tips on ensuring the tank is safe to weld  :-\

It hasn't had fuel in for yonks and seems free of fumes. What to do??

They used to fill the tank with water to purge any fumes, dry out in an oven prior to welding, but I guess if there has'nt been fuel in there for a long time a session in an oven would chase out any dregs.

Cheers

If you are using mig you can always fill it with the inert gas
