Hi everyone just joined this forum can you help. I have wanted an early CB750 for some years and a few months back bought an import. It’s a matching engine/frame Jan 1970 bike and I am wondering what spec it should be?
I will tell you what I know, it has the correct tank (tap on rhs, but not a wrinkle, should it?) forks are OK and the break calliper is correct also the carbs are correct. Not sure what colour it should be, not sure what seat I need (it has a silly one at the moment).
It there an actual spec for the K0 (or interim), I know they changed things quite a lot during the first year but I don’t want to start collecting bits and they are wrong. What top yoke should it have?
Also need help on locating a side stand mount, mine has been ripped off and there is a hole! is a K1 frame the same and if so does anyone have a damaged one or can give specific details on making one.
Any help will be appreciated.

Hi jojo welcome
There are a great bunch of guys on here always willing to help out.If it is an early 1970s bike it should have a duck tail seat and could have been one of three colours Candy blue green,Candy ruby red or my personal favorite Candy gold.

Resize your pictures before uploading. Use Picture Resizer for WinXP (get it from Microsoft Powertools website) - I think it's included with W7 (just right click the image to see if the option is available.
Sorry, limits are a fact as server space is not unlimited (and expensive...)
300k per image, 5 images max per post, 1650k max total.
72dpi and 800 pixels wide is enough for 99% of monitors.
Steve
EDIT: Sorry forgot to say - when you have 5+ posts you won't have to pass the anti-spam tests any more. :)

Ok thanks

;) hi
the later cb750 k0's did not have a wrinkle tank and the colours of the early bikes where only candy blue green and candy ruby red and the candy gold came later and never sold in UK . check side panels, tank, fork shrouds and h\lamp for traces of original paint , it should have a duck-tail seat ,the top yokes are called rhino horn and should look like one lol ::) the k1 frames and later do have a gusset under the seat on the frame cross member the sandcasts and k0's did not . so I would say you are better off welding a side-stand too your frame. with frame numbers and pics we can give you more accurate advice BTW there is lots of stuff already posted here have a browse you will be well rewarded cheers

Hi again, thanks for all your help on this, there is a frame on ebay at the moment its 330911679754 and a K1 frame, it looks like the part I need. Does anyone know if this is the same as the K0? I was going to get some pictures and get it made up by a local engineering company.
Pictures to follow.

Hi Jojotut, are going to buy another frame or just try and copy the sidestand mount?
i'm not sure but I think the sidestand mount stayed the same through all years of production?
you could try and but a scrap frame and cut the piece out you need and get it welded into your frame, I think that would be abetter idea?,
have you managed ant photos yet? ;) cheers Mick.

Hi side stand mounts and sidestands changed over the models. Mine should be like a small spike that sticks out from the frame, these are easily damaged. I have contacted a few places but they are asking silly prices for a full frame and I just need a small section.
I think the early K1`s have the same frame as a K0 but need someone with a better knowledge than me to answer, I then can take pictures/measurements. I just wanted the frame to be restored back to original.
Thanks

Hi jojo here is a close up on my k1
-
Thanks for those lads, this gives me something to work on.
I did not realise that the side stand on a K0/1 was the same as a K6? This gives me a better scope to look at.
All the very best everyone.

When are you going to master the photo thing and show us your bike ? ;) cheers Mick.

Hi Jojotut. Re colour, found mine after I took the headlamp lens off. The original colour (candy blue green) was still intact inside the headlamp bucket. Mine is a April 1970 model (made, then registered Sep 1970). Hope this is of some help. Cheers Chris.

Hi I have worked out how to reduce pictures now so I attach a few of the bike.
Anyone like the seat? Handlebars and forks are wrong it has chrome headlight wings, again wrong.
Anyone give any other items they thing is wrong.
Thanks

No, seats real 70's naff, what are the handlebars from, a wheelbarrow? ;D
-
Yeah those king and queen seats are horrible. Difficult to spot much else with the low resolution of the images.
