Title: cb750 weight
Post by: Bitsa (Ralph Wright - RIP) on March 28, 2014, 08:20:47 PM
Hi Guys,
Getting a bit old and knackered now to work off the floor and I am going to buy a pump up bench but am confused about the old girls weight.
Haynes says 210kg the Vin sticker says 385kg
                                                               420?
And off the web I found 254kg.Does anybody know WTH it is?
Cheers

210 would be about right.

385 or 420 must be the max gross weight (surely) - that's bike + you + missus (oo-err)

My Tiger 1050 weighs 220kg

I had a Raliegh Runabout when I was 16. It was the poor man's Mobylette (as French was obviously better...)

It was made of straw and papier mache. Weighed about 20 oz. Cost me £15.

... but surprised my Fizzie and SS50* mates by holding on to nearly 35 mph.

* In 1975, an SS50 cost about £150

That's only 20lb less than my dads Triumph Trophy 1200 no wonder my little legs struggle at times.
I dropped that once I wont be picking that up in a hurry again.

210Kg is a laugh. The reason I went for the 550 was because it was 420lbs wet. The 750 has all the weight up top.

Les I have the same problem as you I'm on my tippy toes on most bikes.
It's not normally because of the weight I just can't reach the dam floor especially if I tuck my trousers in my boots to far. ::)
On my Pegaso I have to slide of the seat to reach the floor hill starts can be interesting trying to hop from foot to foot.
With the 750 I cant even reach the kick start if I stand to the right of the bike.

Note to self buy a dam battery.

No thanks I'm sure my arms are now an inch longer after picking the Trophy up.
I once picked the pegaso up and it through me over the tank when it went to far
Being short sucks.

All I can tell you is my F1 gets heavier every year, and my face redder as I put her on the centre stand  :-\ Maybe you need to get a heavier stand each year?

Waggles I know what you mean but bench ordered now and can cope with 400kg big enough I think.
My XJR1300 which you think would be a cow to get on the stand was compared to the CB a bitch .Found it to be easy peezy
Cheers
