Police were doing their rounds about 12:30 (midnite), saw these lads next to my bike & part way through nicking another bike and ran off before police could pursue ... they made sure they secured bike then got recovery to pick it up ... all the people I dealt with thought the theives were stupid & didn't know what they had! Slowly pulling bits off ... got to the bottom of their hot wire & busted seat ... more later ...I'm getting hassled to have lunch!!!

Good news! I have bike back with minimal damage .... one thing they have done to break ignition lock is to bend instrument dial mounting lugs on top tripple clamp. Dont fancy trying to bend them back ... does anyone know if part ending in 305 is interchangeable with part ending in 010? No doubt more questions to come! :)

Thanks Andy ... that helps pick me up ... something to look forward to ... early days yet ... I dont have lots of money so need to wait till insurance is sorted ... you never know bike may turn up ... but still feel violated ... maybe if that does happen perhaps I should hand it over to someone else who can look after it better. Maybe the 900 being that bit newer will be less sought after???

Sorry to hear about the theft - seems nothing is safe.
CB900fd is a lovely bike - got one in the shed waiting to be done.
Join the CB1100.net site - absolute wealth of knowledge and really helpful guys mainly US based but have answers to literally any query on these bikes 750, 900 and 1100. I restored an 1100 and found the site invaluable.
Cheers
Andy

The bike Im looking at is basically blue colour. 1983. Updated comstars with lets say hole pattern in pressings rather than earlier slot type pattern (if that makes sense?)

Thanks once again for all your words & comisseration(?).
I have sourced anew project if the yellow peril doesnt turn up, but sadly its a CB900FD rather than a 750 sohc ... anyone know a decent forum for those bikes? My aim will be to get it as good condition as my F1 was...

Heavy chain lock ... & standard yoke lock...
They had to bend the bottom half of garage door up to get to release latch ... door now has 90 deg bend in it!
