Nice job, where did you get the silencer (Muffler) mine's got a BSM silencer, the original is in the loft.

Cheers

Den

Hi - I got it from ebay... originally I found the fixed downpipes (in really good condition - just 2 little dents on underside of collector box and one on one of the fixed down pipes at the bottom...), got that for about

Finally - I've got my bike back to original...
Here's a pic of the last bit of the puzzle - a new exhaust system...

Hmmm - interesting. It would seem from the above that possibly I could get Dyna equivalent coils to the standard Honda units??? The standard units being approx... 5ohm??? So then if I wanted to keep things fairly standard, I could just swap the existing coils (rather ancient) with nice new Dyna 5ohm units? At hopefully a less price!

Somehow I don't quite think so, after the effort I've spent... as well as some bits being unobtainable -  ;D

Thanks heaps for the wiring diag! I was beginning to think there wasn't one specifically for the F1! also the info on the Dyna S is really good - I'm looking forward to give it a go! Is it possible just to change the ignition - do you have to change coils & plugs?

Hi, I also almost got caught out with this...! But managed to keep track of little yellow band on wire! I was interested to note that "Spitfire" PMed a copy of the wirirng diag from a 750F1 (i.e. UK/ euro version) owner's manual - any chance that I could get a copy please? Most of the versions I've been found have either been for a euro F2 or an American CB750F...(F1 equiv. but there are some differences...). I've almost got mine on the road - MOT failed on sticking rear brake - will strip caliper & fit seal kit, hopefully that'll sort it! Once going I intend to sort out a few wiring weaknesses...the odd bullet connector or 2 & also maybe a DYNA S ignition...?

Hi,  I've got a transmission cover on my '76 cb750f which has a small piece broken off. I've got a replacement part, but this one doesn't have the gear positions on it... does anyone know which version is correct for my bike model? See pics

A couple of answers to questions... (you'll have to excuse my ineptitude with internet forums - I'm somewhat "green" at this stuff...!)
I'm not sure I actually stated what my bike is - as it's rapidly become my pride & joy I justy kind of assumed the whole world would know it's a 1976CB750F(1?) - the paint work is a respray but I'd challenge anyone to tell the difference from a bike that wasn't a respray! My feeling is that it's better than factory...16,500miles...pretty much original except exhaust (Motad - looks pretty good) and rear shocks are Hagon(?) units. I'm trying to get it as original as possible...I feel these will fast join the K models as desirable bikes? (not that I'm trying to make a profit out of it! - it'll be a cold day in hell before I'm likely to let it go!!!). Back when this bike was (relatively) new I'd have to admit I was a Yamaha owner (RD400C?), I think that Hondas were too expensives for me :( back then. Anyway picked this bike up for a very reasonable price and have already spent quite a bit on replacement parts (mainly perishables - rubbers and a few cables, indicator stalks etc...I'm rambling aren't I? I'll try to post a before/ after shots of tank so you can draw your own conclusions as to paint colour/ quality.
