Totally off at a tangent here but worth an ask.
The deck on my Honda Izy lawnmower has rotted right through. I repaired it about 4 years ago with fibreglass and its done the job until now but what metal was left has now rotted through completely. Therefore, the deck has basically parted company with the rest of the mower. Very reluctant to just scrap it as the engine is still very good but also reluctant to spend £119 on a new deck. Are any forum members Honda Lawnmower / parts suppliers who could get one for me cheaper please ?. The model number is HRG 415C2 SDE. 16" self propelled petrol.

Found a used one in South Croydon but it's a bit far away really. I can't ride this Honda home !!!

another one in market drayton, but still a bit far. there is one broken in cardiff but it doesnt show the base. i've messaged them anyway.

Snap on that one Julie, I'm looking for a deck for my one too, but as other brands share decks, i am not fussed if it says Honda.

I will have to look at compatibility. Even the genuine Honda replacements don't come with the HONDA Logo, I will add that myself as usual ;D ;D

Or weld / bend up steel plate to make a crude square deck, that's what the decks on old rough cut mowers are and they do have advantages, I had an old hayter hayterette 4hp and that could cut stuff on his lover that stalled the more conventional mowers sporting the same engines, you loose a lot of power to the close clearance of mulching mowers, fine if you keep on top of the grass but if like me you leave cutting the grass in the back garden to a fortnight ago then having massive blade to deck clearance is a great idea, if however you have a collection box on the mower the mulching deck does save emptying so often. I 've 're made mower decks for one or 2 of my mowers, being tight I repair old ones that others think are past it, ready to sell on once 're painted.
