Title: Newbie
Post by: Sesman on December 18, 2020, 06:05:23 PM
Hello.

Just a short note to introduce myself. I’m a motorcycle lifer, but I’ve never undertaken a restoration before. Anyway, I’ve been seduced by a 1977 CB 550 F2. It’s bit of a heap apparently, so I seek in advance your forgiveness and patience for what will no doubt be a barrage of stupid and naive questions.

Now for the begging, does anybody out there know from where I can source an F2 grab rail (“rear bumper”) in decent nick?

Thanks

P

Welcome.   There's loads of 550four experts on here and free advice from people that's restored one.  Theres also a wealth of technical info.  Good luck with it and let's see some photos.

Thanks for the welcomes everyone.

Hi, Nurse Julie. It’s my intention/ambition to get the machine to some kind of usable /presentable/ serviceable condition without approaching the unaffordable (personally speaking) concours condition. Does that make sense?

I’m missing a rear bumper bar if anybody can help?

Thanks again.

PJ.

Hi Sesman

Welcome to the forum I joined about a year ago you wont find a better bunch of people than this they are all so knowledgeable and helpful on the subject of 40yr old CB Hondas. I am up in Northallerton area so not to far away from a fellow member.
My 550 k3 is a bit of a mongrel too and goes by the name of "Muttley" its had far to many owners in its time and has been well messed with over the years but now is getting a working overhaul of what needs done to give Muttley some form of pedigree back, In the 6 months of unlock we managed 900 + miles around the Yorkshire dales on Muttley who never let me down.

Hopefully your get your bike on the road ready for 2021 and manage to get out and about around the stunning roads of the Yorkshire dales.

Nigel
