Title: 41211-323-000 plate (rear sprocket cover)
Post by: McCabe-Thiele (Ted) on September 23, 2023, 02:32:20 PM
The rear sprocket plate on my 500 has rusty chrome as well as being a tad out of shape in a few places.

Anyone here have one that is still undamaged - if the chrome is poor might look at powder  coating though I assume they would have to remove the chrome first - all sounds costly.

Think I’ve got one Ted but it’ll want coating, there’s no chrome left in it.
Did you want that widget bit I sent you a text about last night?

I've PM'd you about the widget, not too worried about the chrome on the plate  but is it dented/damaged Roo - e-mail me a photo? Thanks Ted

This doesn't look much like chrome to me Ted ! Maybe worth stripping yours and having it zinced.

Probably by PO Ted .. unless later models had a chromed one.. not familiar with anything after the K1 500. Ken will know.

Zinc plated originally.. I had mine chromed last time it was restored, they go really dull after a couple of years and I don't do dull.

If you aren't using that in the end Ted, let me know, I'd like to see if I can reclaim it back from the dead.

Update: Not sure now if its been chromed more likely BZB looking at my shiny new 8mm headed M6 cam cover bolts.

Still looking for the rear sprocket plate as Roos is damaged.

Mine is slightly out of shape plus the outer centre  flange section is partly broken away can't remember if that is cosmetic only so could be cut off.

I've got one and I think it is OK.  It's still on a wheel.  Not chrome plated.
