Hi folks.
I wondered if anyone had a tachometer gear & cover lying around that they would like to sell (number 9 & 10 in the picture)? They are available at CMSNL new but they are not cheap and the cost of this project seems to be spiralling by the day. Thanks, Andy

That part fits all 500 and 550 sohc's, the housing is not a easy part find secondhand ;)

I'm going to an electronic tach so I won't be needing the tach drive from my CB550.
I can't from memory remember if it's all there, I'll have to check when I get to the garage next weekend. I could do a swap for a tach hole plug if it turns out to be what your after?

The only tacho plugs I have seen, you still use the housing ;)
Unless you have one made to do away with the housing, a plate .

I've seen some about, mainly on US sites though. I haven't looked into it to be honest as its further down the road for me. Maybe I would need the housing..

if there is more than one out there i also need a housing as mine snapped on removal

I know Dave Silver lists pattern housings but they are expensive, the gear is rare and dont forget the washer that goes on shaft before you fit it into the casing.
As already said its the same part on all 500/550 and the yanks had loads of those so ebay us is a good bet and as its small postage should not be too horendous.
