Been offered this HONDA yesterday, couldnt resist and picked her up today.
Sitting in a shed since 1995 and neglected since then.
Sold to me by a pretty lady. She drove the bike in the early 90th at the age of around 30. Cool, wished I´ve seen her then.

Certainly different, and it does only have one camshaft, just in the block rather than over the head. Must admit I often wondered why Honda chose to turbocharged the CX, although an old established dealer told me that it would show the world if they could turbocharged THAT, they could turbocharge anything! Wonder what a C.B.X. would be like with a turbo!

A 650 too!

That's a good find. I put in a bid on one of those last year but didn't win it.
-
Built loads of CX engines in the late 80's early 90's at a rate of 3 to 5 units a day. 650 parts are hard to get hold of now.
-
Any insider info to the turbo?
Actually, I don´t even know how the seat comes off.
-
Did not do much work on the 650 turbo unit. The turbo unit only came as a one part number unit.
First thing to do is drop the oil pan to see if there is anything that should not be there, one of the only CX's to have a oil pan. Oil pump is at the front of the engine, next to the clutch and the alternator with pick ups is in the rear engine case. Cam chain tensioner is automatic but, the ball bearing can get stuck. Prone to wear on the top rocker shafts but, these can be moved to the opposite side of the head so any wear will be on the bottom.

Just went to the paper work.
Lots of invoices, TÜV (MOT) tests etc. in the file.
Complete service book up to 54.000km service , done in Dec. 1994
Bike now has 63 tkm.
At 62tkm, bike had an engine and gearbox overhauwl. Down to crankshaft bearings and replacing 3., 4. and 5. gear shaft.
Even the compression test printout is there.

Nice find!
The CX is like the great-great-grandmother of the ST ;)
Sourcing parts will be a PITA... to get some for SOHC's seems easier...

Got a HONDA CX turbo shop manual.
Look at this :o

Would suggest that the CX is waaaaaay more complicated than the CB!!!!

Or that the shown CX manual also includes the Common Workshop Manual... ;)
