Hepolite used to make pistons and rimgs for just about every bike you can think of UK and Jap.

Is the choke cable and the choke actuating screw on the carb shaft properly adjusted?

Change all your other lights to LED's and you can just about have any headlamp you want, but I've got a Philips Eco H4 which gives out about 25% more than a standard H4

Yep can confirm from experience the dating letter from the VJMC is the way to go.

But if it's a CB500 seat then am I right in thinking that it will only fit the CB550 K0, K1 & K2? The CB550K3 and F tanks have a different profile at the back and if a K3 or F tank is used on an earlier model then the seat will press hard on the sides of the tank and rub the paint off.

CB500/550 / Re: CB550 Petrol tank leaking - hairline opening worn in the under side« on: September 25, 2017, 11:46:18 AM »
I have a tank that I'm going to put on ebay next Sunday. Fits K3,K4, F1-F2 (Don't know about F3). Solid. Small bits of surface rust. 2 dints that hardly show on the photos - both fillable but one may pull out. Inside bright shiny steel.

£270 a joke, but frustrating that it has the side panel that I need.

Yes someone I know just had it done. It's not a helicoil but a solid insert, and it's done very carefully so no crap ends up in the barrel.. dougie@thethreadmaster.co.uk 07775510166 is a guy in Hampshire who did it for him in Sussex, but there will be someone local to you who can do it.

Both my spare K3 tanks are 10.6cm or as close as I can measure them

I've got DR7ES plugs with resistor caps so I suppose I'm completely wrong, but strangely that's what David Silver sells

CB500/550 / Re: Cb550k3 Headlight/kill switch« on: September 14, 2017, 12:22:16 PM »
Why is having the headlamp on infuriating? At least you can be seen. If it's a power problem then replace your stop/tail and indicators with LED's (inc LED relay) and get a Phillips eco H4 for your headlamp.

I think Seabeaowner has the answer. As for the clutch swap I'm sure someone posted a few months back that they'd done it.
