Out of interest my BiL has a bike where the decals have been painted perfectly onto the tank & side panels rather than using a transfer by a friend - there is no ridge that you can feel - its some sort of air brush process I guess with lacquer on top.

Its a local paint sprayer that did his decals but he does not offer it to customers as it's too time intensive.

On the early CB SOHC/4's the lines were hand painted but the 400/4 F2's and plenty others of that age, were decals. All the tanks we have had painted by Menno Dek have hand painted lines.
