I'm sure the experienced members here already know this but I wish I had kept all of my old gaskets that came off in one piece when dismantling my engine.
They come in really hand as a masking item when re-painting engine parts if you wipe them of any excess oil I have found head gasket & block gaskets reall good for this task.
As it is I have used new gaskets as a stencil then marked a clean bit of thin cardboard as a substitue. Sorry if it's too obvious.
