ENTRY FORM IN THE ATTACHED LINK
https://www.tramway.co.uk/whatson/classic-motorcycle-day/
Just received this from Jon Lambly for Crich Tramway Village CLASSIC MOTORCYCLE DAY - SUNDAY 3RD JULY 2022
"Crich Tramway Village CLASSIC MOTORCYCLE DAY - SUNDAY 3RD JULY 2022 - PARKING DETAILS
After October's event went quite well, we've started planning for next years event and we can but hope that covid-19 doesn't mess up 2022.
You may have seen that the editor of Old Bike Mart have just done a great write up for us in the December issue, which all helps promote the event.
We've learnt from previous events that the ideal number of exhibitors is around the 300 mark, so our intention is to plan around that figure. I will email you all, when I know when registration is opening but I imagine it will be around February or March.
We've applied for a Battle of Britain flyover, booking the band again and having event t-shirts made along with the usual awards and rosettes.
This year we are looking to have the Kawasaki Z1 owners outside the Red Lion pub to mark their 50th anniversary.
If your club or members have any queries, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Finally, thank you very much for your on-going support, without yourselves coming along the event wouldn't exist.
If you no longer wish to receive emails regarding the above, just let me know. I won't be offended.
All the best for Christmas and New Year and I hope to see you all soon.
Regards
Jon Lambley

Oh good,
I would like to go again,
Hopefully we can persuade them to let us group together,
It will be nice to see you all again

I'd be up for that as well next year now the bike is finished and registered. 👍
-
I know John Lambley from my previous employment! It's a small world.
-
I’m definitely going, but if I haven’t sold my Z1-A by then I’ll be taking that for the 50th anniversary malarkey.
If not I’ll bring the CL450 and hang out with you guys.
-
I'll liaise with Jon as I have done in the past and get us a parking spot together as a group.
-
Just blocked out the diary, looking forward to it :)
-
I've contacted Jon and asked him to set aside enough space for 10 of us to park together, with the option to increase this number if needed.
Jon says this won't be a problem at all.
I'll keep you all updated as and when.

I could well be interested in going to that, can I hang with you lot in your gang for the day if I promise to behave and not ask too many questions?

Yes, of course you can Roo, the more the merrier. If you go on a classic bike, it's free entry for the bike and rider and only the pillion pays, if there is one. It's a great day out.
-
Might bring them both up but we'll see nearer the time. Worst case scenario is that Chewy goes in the back of the camper with The Long Haired General driving and me on The VFR and park up about 60 miles away at a pals and both ride in. Wouldnt want to give her that monster ride straight from the off bless her. Although a fantastic and seasoned, serious rider, she's not ridden for a few years and a 400 on the M1 might be a bit of a chew for her, we'll see.
In the diary then
Cheers :) ;) 8)

Presuming my bike is a runner by then I'm tempted to go - need the long range weather forecast to be sure - otherwise I might just go as a visitor.
-
Come for a chuckle Ted, it'd be a good hoot no doubt and some mechanical, two wheeled porn thrown in for good measure. Besides there'll be WWII aircraft doing stuff..........and everything!!! :o
-
Hi, Julie.
Pending DVLA performance on the age related registration, I’ll have a ride over. It sounds like a good day out.
-
I'll see you there Phil, hopefully riding your completed doner frame if it's ever located and I get my hands on it!
-
If I’d known how much trouble this was going to be I’d have had it couriered. If you find the frame you might offer your services to the met in the search for Lucan.
-
Hi Julie thanks for the heads up hope to see you there
-
This provides a good target date for getting mine completed so book me a parking slot then I'm committed! Thanks Julie.
-
Great to see so much interest. When the time comes to complete the entry forms, which won't be for at least a couple of months, I will post a link to the form. You will need to print it out, fill it in, send it back to the Tram Museum Admin team, with SAE and they will send your entry number sticker etc, etc.
In the meantime, I have asked Jon to up our parking slots up to approx 15 at this stage.
-
If the 500 is completed by the date I'll pop down.
-
Booking is now open for the Classic Motorcycle Day at Crich.
If you open this attachment and scroll down, you can follow the link to the form. Print out, fill in and do what it says on the form.

I've asked Jon Lambly if we can all park together, down near the Trams, by the toilets, where we have parked before, he said this won't be a problem at all. Nearer the time, I will talk to Jon again and agree a way in which we can get by the Entrance Marshalls to get to our spot without any issues.

Hi Julie
Got my pass today number 211
-
The Classic Bike day at Crich Tram Museum will definitely be going ahead, although some attractions (related to the trams etc) won't be operating due to Health and Safety issues........
-
Great news we need a dry day as well if possible!
Looking forward to meeting the sohc members who are able to attend.

I will be there, ticket 211

I've had the final details through from Jon, the organiser.
I've attached a copy of his email to me, a plan of the site and a plan of where our group have been allocated our show parking.
If anyone want me to send them the email with attachments that you can print out, PM me.
The email......
Hi Julie,
I'm back from Normandy and after a chaotic weekend I'm back on track.
At the moment the Tramway are hoping to have the Trams running on the 3rd July but whether they are running or not you will be in the area marked on the sketch of Area 1 Town End.
The marshalls will direct you to where you are parking but you need to brief all your riders to say to marshalls " We're the SOHC riders and we're parking at Town Head behind the Tram stop".
Any issues refer them to me, as they will have a radio.
Can I suggest that at least one of you arrives as early as 0830hrs and is one of the first exhibitors when we open the gates. That person can then park where the red arrow is on the Area 1 sketch, which will start the line for your group. It will also make sure you get in place before any other group steals it. If as many of your group can arrive together, it will also help you and us, to get you in the correct place.
I hope that all makes sense and I hope you have a great day.
Any issues ring me on 07528 178484
Cheers

Will do Roo 👍👍👍

I'm not going, again. It's always the same time as my wife and my son's birthdays and we're off on holiday again. I have managed to book into the Llandovery bike show on the 400four with our local club. Lots of bikes, beer etc, camping overnight then back home on Sunday. Just in time to drive off somewhere. I hope to make Crich sometime in the future.

The weather is looking good for Crich tomorrow 😊😊😊 We're already in Derbyshire, staying near Tissington for a couple nights, it's a beautiful evening.

Bikes look lovely, I do like Graham's K6 in that blue too and not often seen as so many were red in UK.
Hope everyone has a good day meeting up.
-
Hi Everyone who is attending I was due to take my bike tomorrow but due to health reasons (a TIA) it's unlikely I will take my bike this year.
I have a visitors ticket so plan to attend as a normal visitor instead if all goes to plan.

Same place as before Tim, in the cow shed 😊😊😊😊

It will be lovely if you can make it Ted.

Have great time at Crich today…I’ll be replacing some old folks fences in the rain🙁
-
Hope you are all having a great day. Sorry I couldn't make it this year, my own fault as I left it until last week to try and book a hotel for tonight and finding the cheapest was £91! I didn't want to do the there and back ride in one day as I have done before, too many miles on man and 46 year old bike!
-
Made it to Crich as a visitor only - met at least five members at the venu. Aside from the Honda's saw some great classic bikes including a good turn out of Vincent's.
A great event with mainly dry weather on the day. Great to put faces to user names. Wendy met Nurse Julie who made her feel very welcome by chatting to her even though Wendy's interest in bikes is on a par with my interest in ladies shoes.
Brilliant event left before the winning results were announced.
-
What a great day out at Crich again.
Great to see:-
John Wembley on his black 500 K1
Steve (smoothoperator) on his yellow 400/4
John (Hondarc166) on his yellow 400/4
Paul Baker on his brown 500 K0
Graham (Trigger) on his 750 K6
And myself on my 500K1.
Ted (McCabe-Thiele) and his lovely wife Wendy who came by car
Paul Gledhill (came by car)
Some other riders who are not forum members (that I'm aware of anyway) came and parked with us as well and there were a few others parked elsewhere.
Lovely to see everyone again.
All the bikes that were on show today, of all types, were really great.
I took some photos of our group and when I see photos of other bikes pop up, I'll add those here as well.

Oh yes, just in time to be at the end of the line....

It's now up for sale, A member of the Z!OC came to have a look at it but wants a brown one really.

The last tram in Sheffield did my head in slightly, it ran in October 1960 - I remember going on one when Mum and I visited her mum in Sheffield, which makes me 4 or less at the time! My lasting memory is the wheel for the handbrake on the platform as you got on, which this also had, at the time I thought it was a steering wheel! We enjoyed the reversing of the seats at the end of the line.
We stayed for the 4pm flyover of the Lancaster, City of Lincoln, which was very low. Unfortunately I am too stupid to host a video without knowing my Youtube password any more.

I looked everywhere for you Dave on various occasions yesterday but couldn't find you 🙄🙄🙄🙄

Good day out nice to meet up again after last two year's weather was ok to nice to see Julie and Trig again :) :)

For any of you that may have your 2023 diary, Chrich Tramway Museum Classic Bike Day next year will be Sunday 2nd July.
Unlike previously where you could just turn up on the day with your bike without registering, entry will be by pre registration only. I think we have all pre registered in the past anyway, so no change for us lot.
-
Hi all, my 1st post!!
I was at the other end on my 550 along with our VFR400's!

This was my first visit to Crich and I would definitely recommend it for the number of bikes on display and the location at the tramway museum. Also it was great to meet some of the members of this forum. Only one photo, I really can't add much to those taken by Julie![attachimg=2]
