When they arrive in a packing case is the test wheel on place?
If not it might be down to the PDI assembly.
Can't see it makes any difference TBH.🤔🤔🤔

Be interesting to see how you get on with it - looks great bit of kit - how did I ever manage without one in the past?

Please let us know how effective it is Mike when it arrives and you do the magic.

You are not alone my 400 has the nut on the left hand side.

In the Honda Parts List it is shown with the nut on the left hand side.
I'm glad there are at least two nutters on here then! Ted, my picture shows it on the right hand side. ;D

The dowloadable Shop Manual supports us Lefties. ;D ;D ;D

The 500 is also shown in manuals as a left side nut fitting as does Mr Haynes.

Might be it's been shifted to the right side so the silencer is not in the way.

Hello,
I bought a pair of coils from EBay for £37! They’re bound not to work!
I’ve just fitted them. They’re working fine so far after an ‘extensive’ 25 mile test.
The only problem is (as someone else here stated) the mounting holes are 90mm apart and the  standard fitting on my 550k3 is 100mm apart so you need to make up two little steel brackets. Measurements, 11mm wide, 28mm long with two 6.5mm holes with centres 10mm apart and 9mm from each end. Also as they have male spade connectors you have to make up 4 wires (2x female spade to male bullet black with white stripe and 2x female spade to female bullet one blue and one yellow). They need to be about 250mm long. I don’t think the coil connections are polarised so I just wired them the same way as each other.  I suppose we’ll see how long they last.
I was also quite pleased I did this as the yellow wire connection just fell apart and was due to fail. Good luck with it.

Is the primary resistance quoted?

A link to the actual item would help.

The mix of Bryan & Nigels advice should work if you use a T bar rather than using a ratchet on the socket you can apply the force more evenly a third hand might help with the filer housing whilst you use the T bar - best of luck.

Might be the  bidders saw it in the flesh and the photos were very flattering.
Auction prices are sometimes about extremes in either direction rather than true value especially as there was no reserve set and the family just wanted to move it on quickly.

This 550 only fetched £1000 - I'ne no idea if this was cheap or is that all they fetch unrestored.

That on the face of it looks a good buy at that price, the engine  looked as though it has not been painted so let the bike down I thought.

I expected it to reach £4k.

Back in the 1960/70s many banks charged businesses when you banked cash. The cost of handling cash was rolled up into the overall  bank charges to the business.

My late father used to tell me that when he was in the car trade back then most private purchases paid in cash with company purchases being paid  using cheques. He put the rapid expansion of private car ownership to the availability of hire purchase and credit sale agreements that reduced cash handling as finance companies often paid by cheque.

In the last three plus decades we take free personal  banking as the norm. Our "free" banking is in reality subsidised by different forms of fees attached to our transactions.

A local Chinese Takeaway has become cash only quite recently, truth be told cash can be a way to avoid paying income tax.
When I used to sell cars to Farmers they would want you to reduce the invoice price and pay the difference in cash.(Floor board/matress money from selling eggs etc privately) My late boss always like some cash of this type - no surprise when he was paying 95p in the pound including surtax.

Here's a scary fact about going cashless;
If you have £50 and pay for every purchase with cash then £50 cash will have the same value in terms of spending power no matter how many cash transactions you make.
If however you have £50 in your bank account and you pay for every purchase from that same £50 using cashless payments after 30 cashless payments the monetary value of the original £50 will be worth £5. Why? Because the bank will add a 1.5% surcharge on every card transaction made and in so doing the bank makes shed loads of money on every cashless transaction made.
It is the banks pushing for a cashless society and not the traders. This is the reason for the cash is king campaign.

That looks a convincing narrative Dave - I think it's essentially untrue but looks convincing on the face of it.
It reminds me of the old conundrum about the three blokes going to buy a Trumpet from a second hand shop.

In fact after the first £50 transaction it is split into £49.25 to the vendor & £0.75 to the bank adding these two amounts still adds up to the original £50 value. Yes it lowers the vendors profit margin but no money is actually lost.

Even though you might have used an Ultrasonic Bath to clean your loom. I would still use Cillit Bang Limescale Remover on the connections as per NJ's advice on previous posts.

I usually go to Stafford show as my son buys us both tickets and drives but we couldn't make it this time.
Anyone go and got anything to report back ?

I've been going for the last few years - my BiL who was taking me tommorow has Covid so not going this Sunday might mike the Autumn show instead.

Probably a good thing as I w'ont be looking at  Maicolettas.
