Is this the part # you are looking for.  99202-601-1000
Yeah, that’s them but struggling to find #100’s for some reason.
Dave, although another tool in the tool chest is all sooper dooper and that, it’s cost prohibitive for me mate on what I need to achieve so as much as I want them being as much of a magpie as I ever was, I’ll keep chasing the jets for now, Bryan said he may have some kicking about so fingers crossed n all that.

Thanks for all the input fella’s appreciate it

That’s right Bryan, they simply aren’t available. I’ve mss as bagged to cobble a set of #98’s via Germany, Lithuania and one from France at great expense and their standards!

If you have mate that  would be bloody fantastic

If they were cheap to start with Nige, I’d invest in a set of reamer’s but for the possible 4 I MIGHT have to do is a bit of an investment I don’t need at the min. Good shout though, hadn’t even considered it tbh.

It’s for Mejima, the 550,  summers coming on and I’ve finally ‘got round to it’ so carbs on the bench and tuning imminent.

I’m struggling to get any this side of the Atlantic and deffo not a set of 4 of each. Stupidly I forgot to get them whilst over in the states last time I was there………..like you do!

Thanks all.

CB500/550 / Re: Leak in front brake switch and by the caliper
« on: March 30, 2024, 01:09:04 AM »
I’ve a couple of lower hoses in black finish but braided stainless steel lines up for grabs. They were  the first incarnation of my brakes on the 550 and standard length. I’ve swapped set ups and had longer lines made so these are surplus. Made by HEL.
I’ve had them on the bike and bled up but removed a few days later so I guess you could say they’re 2nd hand but mint condition.
They connect to the end of the solid metal brake line after the calliper and run to the brake switch/splitter on the bottom yolk.
Drop me a pm if interested Alex

Yeah, with Bryan, you’re missing the copper/ally washers either side of the banjo’s and at the calliper. If you haven’t got any, ring HEL AT Exeter, they’ll post em to you super quick and should be a couple of quid

I’ve lusted after a vfr800i pre Vtec bike for a long time. It should be noted the Vtec models are supposedly expensive to service hence my desire for a 98-01 model. I owned a 93 VFR750 for a few years and it was just such a good bike. Heavy to transition but stable as a rock.

Have a friend with a sprint it’s a great long distance machine but it hasn’t weathered the test of time in the cosmetic department.
Only if you’re doing valves in a business work shop as the engines gotta come out, everything else is not too bad really. In 20 years, I’ve only replaced the thermostat and swapped a head due to mechanical fuckwittery when it went into a shop. I just keep putting tyres on it, brakes and fuel in the tank. Oh, and an exhaust recently but that’s after the old one went through at 160k.

Yes the engines are sod to take out but it’s a V4 but once you pluck courage up and dig in, it’s rather cool to work on. Two up or on your own it’s a mega bike

If it’s high, don’t worry if it’s a Honda and been serviced. Pretty much unbreakable engines

Very true especially the VFR with cam gear drive, no long cam chain thrashing around. Lots of the late model VFR750’s around at sub £2k in decent condition. These bikes have got to start increasing in value, an undervalued classic for sure.

I’d have an FP model, tomorrow. Awesome bikes

Plenty of scope there for an excellent VFR, Pan or trumpet, there’s heaps out there

It’s a well known fact in here but my VFR800 has over 170k innit and I’ve been everywhere on it. The trumpets a great bike, so is the XJ albeit dated now. So many variables. I can’t fault my VFR as it’s so versatile, I wouldn’t know what to replace it with, …….except another one.

Also as an add I’ve an 09 plate one for sale in dark graphite grey with a few bits n bobs on it should you decide to go that route but don’t want to spend a fortune. Go ride some bikes, you’ll soon know what you like and what fits you.
