For too long have struggled with trying to innovate when trying to remove rear wheels / front forks etc. Last weekend thought, “enough!”, whipped down to Bunnings and bought an electric hoist (250Kg).
It’s now installed in the garage ceiling (against a triple joist) and suddenly my life has become a whole lot easier.
Bliss...

I just have 4 ratchet straps hanging from the roof. 2 front and 2 rear so i can lift either end or the whole bike if needed. Cheap as chips.

No centre stand on the Guzzi?
Never had a problem getting the rear wheel off my CB750 or Z900 on the centre stand, the forks are a different matter and you can't do both at the same time safely using just the centre stand ::) ;D - I've seen members jacking up the front using a car jack and axle stands or timber to support it to get the forks off and on, but I've found using a front paddock stand quick and convenient:

Yup, no centre stand on the Guzzi.... don’t reckon I’d be strong enough to use it if it had one given the CB750 taxes me these days...
All comments valid; the truth is I can’t help myself when it comes to tinkering, but I can indeed see this hoist being used. Certainly I won’t be lifting full bikes.... I reckon I’ll limit it to 150Kg given this is what I’ve just done.... with zero creaking or dramas.
My other garage helper is Socket the cat, who uncannily found a safer vantage point for this project...

Blimy you could almost lift a Guzzi with that
I prefer a different approch with my Guzzi. It gives you a hernia so it sits on the bench for a week before you touch it again.
For some reson my garage has a ramp in front of the door.
So I take a run up from the start of the drive up the ramp.
Just as the rear wheel hits the ramp to the garage the front wheel hits another ramp for the bench. So the bike clibs 2 feet in about half the bikes length. Not easy as the handle bars end up about ear hight.
The good thing with the Guzzi is it has a flat sump pan so easy to jack up with a car jack.

Bloody hell Mick, that sounds fraught... given these rhinoceroses weigh 240Kg or so.
(tried the sump pan lift, but given the heaving and pulling on getting out the swing arm decided better of it)
My Bunnings winch set me back £110 (A$199) which I thought a steal. This said, it’s made in China, ..... which in hindsight perhaps explains the cat?

What a cool cat, even improvised it's own covid screen too. They always know more than they let on.
Little known but cats are calibrated, they're good for weights, torque and amps. Not so hot on voltage, where you'd be better using a wire haired terrier.

This with locking straps worked for the front wheel and forks off!
(I think I took the mirrors off so the bars could go through the ladder)
