I've saved a few of these over the years...

This is from Don Beni's (an Italian restaurant / pizza place in Wokingham - now closed) about 2012

I can see five errors (if you include the random apostrophe in "X'mass"

My favourite was the Travellers who set up their 'Base Camp' on a Croydon Industrial Estate selling Xmas Trees one winter.

They painted these immortal words on a massive board to attract Customers:

'Best Quailty Xmas Trees'

I thought that politics was banned on this forum as we all have differing views.  :o

I was on a job website and I had to do an online assessment.   I got all of them correct, except the proof reading one.  I took a screenshot of it and still couldn't find the fault.  My Mrs eventually spotted it after the fourth reading.

Here's another from the same place but 18 months later. It seems the Xmas(s) trainee didn't get the push after all!

Where I once worked had a large sign for many years that read

No one ever noticed it.

I read the closing procedures message several times, carefully, word by word. Nope, nothing wrong with it at all, except that knowing there actually was something was driving me nuts.

I only saw it when I was wondering what on earth BryanJ was on about, and then re read the message. Now I know I can't unsee it, I can't believe I missed it!

I am the apostrophe police, the number of people who think that " 's"  pluralises something is astounding. Our local tip has signs everywhere saying "No Bag's", and the charity shop here sells "CD's" amongst other things. I read a great article about a man after my own heart in Bristol, who goes around at night armed with a ladder, and different colours of paint and tape to make rogue apostrophes go away.

Lost in translation from Japanese rather than misspelt, the Webike site refers a lot to 'out of print motorcycles'.

Leave my bug alone, it is grammatically correct!

This chap is quite a sensation in the USA, however the fact that the sign sometimes reads 'Brian' and sometimes 'Brain' proves that it has been messed with via photoshop...

You want to see out local WHAT store.  On the edges of the shelving are notices;  "Smile, Your on CCTV"
Drives me up the wall whenever I go there.

I love the thought of a guy deleting apostrophies.  I'd gladly hold his ladder if he came around here.

I read about a Spanish Hotel that had experienced problems with the quality (not quailty) of their Water Supply, and after the experts had sorted it out, a sign was displayed in the Foyer saying:

'All the water in this Hotel has been passed by the Management'.

A Tesco store in Greater Manchester had a sign to label the 'Stationary Department' - it sold pens and paper etc, and didn't move at all!

Anyhow, it turns out that it was over 3 years ago, but I knew I hadn't dreamed it...

I was never sure about this one...
It could be done on purpose. Obviously a better class of signwriter in Marlow.

Reminds me of my Daughter when she was about 8. My Sister called round to our house with John, her new Boyfriend. We all sat there fairly quiet - as you do when somebody visits you for the first time. My Daughter was 'itching' to ask John something I could tell and eventually she spat it out - "Are you John the Bastard" ?

When we'd all wiped up our spilt tea and biccies I asked my Daughter why she'd asked that particular question and she said that she had been learning about John the Bastard in Religious Education classes at her Catholic School.

Many years later she often worked with John in his Carpet Cleaning business, but whenever she said she'd be working over the weekend I always asked if she'd be working with 'John the Bastard'.
