CB750 / Bogging down.
« on: May 12, 2020, 06:15:04 PM »
Hi everyone,
Can anyone help me with this  issue on my build I’ve been doing.
K5 engine
Starts perfect, idles perfect, when I take her on the road she bogs down completely when i crack the accelerator.
Timing is good, points are correct and the plugs are showing tan colour.
Today I took her for a run to shops and I put the clutch lever to half way and she flew through all gears with minimal bogging.
Thanks in advance for any help.

CB750 / Clutch
« on: May 02, 2020, 02:05:16 PM »
Hi all,
can anyone help, I’m trying to finish my clutch,
The manual says 8-10 nm on torque wrench on the 10 mm bolts on lifter plate.
My wrench is set to that yet it’s clamping the plate right to the basket.
I’ve tried doing the bolts with 7nm but it’s still doing the same.
The lifter plate is sitting inside the clutch housing 9mm from the surface and I’ve managed to chip a bit of the plate in the corner.
Am I doing something wrong or our is my wrench buggered?

CB750 / Clutch slip
« on: April 19, 2020, 08:10:55 PM »
Hi everyone,
So I’ve got the old girl out for a quick road test.
F2 frame k5 engine.
All is good but Clutch is slipping after second gear.
Last time she was on the road was 1998.
Fresh oil in her etc and I’ve adjusted the clutch as per manual, do i need to replace clutch or is there something else I can do ?
Many thanks,
Gray

CB750 / Wiggle
« on: April 17, 2020, 02:51:10 PM »
Hi everyone,
My front drive sprocket has a slight bit of wiggle, if I hold it between thumb and fore finger it had a about a couple of mm movement, is this normal?
The engine is a K5.
Thanks

CB750 / Gear changing
« on: February 29, 2020, 04:13:46 PM »
Hello everyone,

Could anyone shed some light on why my CB750 k5 engine won’t shift gear with massive pressure on the shift lever when the engine is running?
When the engine is not running the lever shifts through the gears smooth.
I’ve been putting this bike together over last few months, it was just a frame and engine when I got it, engine itself runs great, today is the first day I’ve got her out so I’ve only Just discovered this.
Thanks for any help

CB750 / Bottom hanger bolt.
« on: January 20, 2020, 07:25:43 PM »
Hi all,

Can anyone tell me if the bottom engine hanger bolt for a CB750 f2 is longer than the same bolt for a CB750 k5 ?
Also is there difference in the long front engine hanger bolt between those two models?
Many thanks

CB750 / Chain tensioner CB750 k5
« on: January 20, 2020, 01:03:34 PM »
Hello all,
Is it possible to remove the chain tensioner from a CB750 k5 engine to check it’s not jammed without dismantling the head?

I’m worried if I take it off I won’t be able to get it back back in.

Thanks

CB750 / Rear master cylinder
« on: January 11, 2020, 06:58:25 PM »
Hi everyone,
I have a cb750f2 build on the go at the moment,
Bought as a rolling frame and a box of bits. Been slowly putting her back together and one of the scores of bits missing was rear master cylinder.
Managed to find one in the states needing overhaul.
I’ve drilled the old piston out but managed to balls it all up by drilling the first part of the cylinder to wide so piston rubber has to much play.
Has anyone got any solutions for this problem?
Is it possible to get the cylinder bored out slightly bigger then a new sleeve inserted and welded at that the top ?
Thanks
