Title: 2t project
Post by: allankelly1 on January 27, 2024, 04:48:04 PM
As some of you may know building a bit of a special at the moment.

So far it’s been 4 years in the making due to the build using a unique “one off” race frame built by the late Dave Pearce (Tigcraft) and lots of other setbacks due to its complexity, but at last it’s coming together, and now at the stage to sort out a set of custom pipes.

So here’s a bit of 2T porn for those that love to smoke.

Best wishes Al.

Yes styling will be loosely based on my other 2T bike a 1981 LC like the clocks a twin horn set up and of course the Yamaha 2T motor and yes will do a video but long way of from that at the moment

Best wishes Al

Looking great Allan.
Have Tigcraft now ceased trading following the passing of Dave Pearce, I hadn't read about that in the MC press. He did some great work and and inspired a lot of specials. Is the swing arm of his making?
Looking forward to more updates as things progress.

Hi Dave

Yes I believe Tigcraft are no more since his passing around 2021 / 2022 from I believe cancer🥲

Swingarm is from a Honda NSR 250 (MC21)

Best wishes Al

Good to see you posting Alan - love those Land Rover headlights that you recommended now fitted in my 400 & 500 build. Those wheels look minimalist in the spoke department.👍👍👍

Is the big bore 400  engine still on hold?

I'll dig out a piccie of my LC. It had the Pro-Am fairing and bellypan but non-standard paint, so had probably already been crashed when I bought it. Unsurprisingly , someone (!) crashed it again.. I fixed it all up but sold it on in about 2000 for just 400 quid to someone in Harlow. it's still showing as MOTd- I would love to see it now, probably fully restored and immaculate. I still have the original number plate and a very bent/ crashed rear brake pedal! TJA242X - if anyone sees it!

I see the attraction of two strokes - I've actually owned more 2T bikes that 4T.
When I rode my mates Suzuki  GT 380  it opened my eyes to what 2Ts can do.

Yes that power band is so addictive

Nothing quite like it, and it was the 2T bike like the RD250LC and the Suzuki X7 that changed the learner law in 1982

This is my late dad on a GT380
