Well folks
Used some and it’s very good on alloy cases, brings them up way better than solvol and apparently it seals as well so less often polishing

Expensive but very good and goes a long way

Would recommend

I always use Inox in Southampton

Good quality and service

I am not a purist and replaced my JIS with socket cap screws as I just prefer them

Only issue was i had to mod the main stand bump stop slightly as it didn't line up but it was an easy mod

I have always used EBC on my bike and they always work well.  They have a tendency to squeal but that's when I know they are correctly adjusted.  The brake on these bikes is rather primitive but is more effective than it 'feels'.

I used EBC pads in an attempt to stop the squeal from my front brake and it didn’t help. But I saw a recent post talking about chamfering the edges of the pads which I did and squeal seems to have gone. I have no idea why this happens!!!!

Make sure you have the front tensioner the right way round. I had mine the wrong way and exactly the same problem. Also make sure you are inserting the cam from the rights hand side

All sorted and back together now

Thanks to Julie for the bushes and John Oldfield for the collar (ouch at £95)

Old ones came out with sheer brute force and Julies went in quite easily after sitting in freezer but still needed a few whacks with my lump hammer.

I had not come across this guy before, seems to have a lot of Honda old stuff.

I managed to get a swingarm collar from him that I couldn’t quickly find anywhere else

Thanks for all the help
Bushes on way from Nursey but do I HAVE to replace the collar or can I just change the bushes?

There is a bolt that goes all the way thoughthe frame and swing arm, that goes through a thick walled steel tube that is "pinched" by the frame when the bolt is tight, the bushes in the swing arm pivot on the outside of this tube.
This tube is called a collar by Honda and is same on 750, 550 and 500.
I could look up the part number for you but that would spoil your fun

Maybe a stupid question but how do you get the old bushes out?
Do I need some special tool?

New bronze bushes from Nurse Julie and probably an expensive collar from Honda plus new greas nipple, cheapest  part and that will cure it.
Yes the collar wears more than the plastic bushes!!!

Not sure what collar you are referring to
