Title: 350/400 engine seals.
Post by: royhall on May 08, 2015, 05:36:31 PM
Could any of you 350/400 gurus confirm that the engine seals for the 350 are the same as the 400. DSS sell a full set of seals for the 400 at a reasonable price, but the 350 seals are all sold separately at much higher cost. Am I safe to just order the 400 set. What a great forum, where else could you ask a question like that and even hope to get a correct answer. Brilliant.

Yes they are the same, except for the clutch shafts.

Note: Output shaft seal, check the very small oil feed hole is clear. this is the feed from the secondary pump to supply oil to the gearbox/bearing. I normally use the OEM seal.

I heard that the pattern seals are not good for the sprocket, same reason ttr gave---think I read it on the US site

That is very useful to know.
Still not sure if I will need them just yet.

Oh God. Now I'm worried because I used the complete DSS seal kit on my 400  ::).
