Dear All, Honda doesnt show the part/part number of this hidden o-ring under the metal sleeve, which goes into the crankcase seal of the chain sprocket axle.
Do you maybe now the size? My own quick check is 22mm inside and 2 mm thick

My 50cc Kreidler moped has special code to see of both halfs are matching. Strange that Honda leaves that ‘option’ open. Even on the picture of Julie you can see that the rollerbearing makes a mark. But ofcourse a mark or moving slighty material is different.

Can you ever found out if a set of crankcases are matching? No secret Honda stamp?

Dear All, I would like your knowledge and advice on which color codes bearings these are:

And this is a different set of crankcases, than the rollerbearing marks (see other post)

Crankcase stamping BBCBB
Crank A1 B1 B2 B2 2
Conrods 2 3 2 1

So that makes for the crank: B1 B1 C2 B2 B2
Green Green xxxx Brown Brown, what is C2 crank?

Conrods: A2 B3 B2 B1
Yellow Brown, B2 and B1 are?

Please add and confirm the color

Thank you a lot

Kind regards,

Emiel

Dear All, that is the tricky parts of buying a empty set of crankcase, I dont know and I cant prove they are/were a matching set. Looking at other crankcases the marks are always in the lower crankcase. By the forces?

Hi, I bought the empty crankcases with some spare parts. So sadly I have not the ‘matching’ bearings. It will be a low mileage bike, but all new engine parts. So if it is not worth it, or a big risk I will trash them. Loctite has nice versions to glue bearings, and fill gaps. Worst case I need a new set, which is a shame.

Dear All, I want to build up a new cb400f engine but checking the crankcases after washing them, I see and feel with my nail that the gearbox rollerbearing made markings in the crankcase. Is this bad? Did the bearings spin around, because of not enough pre tension? Can I use the crankcase? Shall I glue the bearings in with Loctite? Please advise. Kind regards Emiel

He did my stock CB carbs very nicely, quick work and quick shipping from Canada. But yeh that was 3 years ago, he was also working on a speed throttle for the CB 400 four carbs, I got one of his prototypes, but didn't test it yet to be honest.

I am working on two bikes at the same time, not very efficiënt, one complete stock, with many NOS parts (including exhaust header) CMSNL loves me,  and one fast version (big bore, alu rims, bored carbs by Rick Denoon, Kevin TTR parts, stage two welded web cam, stainless Motogpwerks exhaust, alu Koni's, skimmed drilled disc, Hyperpro front springs, Pro bolt titanium bolts, K&N filters, BT45's)
So yeh enough to do! :-)

@Julie : PS: tolerance piston for aftermarket big bore kit? 0.03mm?

Kind regards,

Emiel
