Lots of folk have restored the early K's and fitted the bottom chrome strip onto the tank. I need to do one soon and wondered if there were any useful bits of advice to be had.
Is it simply a push on or are there some sort of fixings there?
Thanks all

Regarding a K2 750, constantly blowing fuses. If I remove the live from the regulator the fuse stops blowing. Seems like a direct short to earth via the regulator.
Is this likely? I assume that there should not be continuity between the live feed on the regulator and earth.
Any thoughts on the problem or is it a simple regulator replacement?
Thanks for any advice

I posted this on the US site as well, but I am looking for pictures of the handlebar switches for a Japanese K2.
Can anyone help please?
Thanks

Great service from them.
I bought some braided lines for a K2 off Wemoto and found the top hose too short as the bike is an import.
I called Hel and they asked me to return the top hose with details of the length required. I sent my old hose as a pattern.
New one duly arrived (with my original) FOC
What more can you ask for?
Hel is a small concern with only a few people working for them. They were friendly and very helpful

Another small decision to make. The K2 has HM300 exhausts, but HM 341 baffles fitted (not sure why) Carbs are 657A castings and the needles are correct (27201) and in the correct positions (4th from top). Main jets are marked 102, which seems odd as I thought these came in steps of 5. Book says these should be 105 or 110. Other jets are correct. Should I be changing the jets to a larger size? I would guess 110 because of the exhausts. Any thoughts? Cheers

Looking to refill the front forks on the K2. As already known, the original manual recommended 10-30 oil. Was there special fork oil in 1972? What is the modern view? I was thinking of using a modern 10-20 fork oil. Any reason not to?

I hope someone can give me some info. I need to know the dimensions of the spacer that sits under the lower bearing as a previous owner did not fit the spacer and I have run out of adjustment on the stem. I would rather not replace the whole set for one spacer, but will do if necessary.
Hope this makes sense

Quicky question. I believe that F heads are not compatible on K series engines. Is this true? Could a K1/K2 head be fitted to an F1 and work or would there be problems??

How do I view my sent messages? I can find the received messages and those in my outbox, but not anything that I have sent.
Am I missing something obvious??

When did Honda introduce the green faced instruments? My K1 has the dark face and I believe K2's did as well. Was it only the F series that had them?

I am helping someone restore a 72 K2 and it has been fitted with an early single cable throttle and switch gear. This has the earlier black engine stop knob. I am assuming that these are now hard to get and wondered at the possible value. Any thoughts? I will be looking to get a later switch set for this bike at some time and any costs that can be offset help.
Cheers

Long title that one. I have acquired a Yamaha XV750 in parts, but without a V5. I have the frame number, but no reg plate. That was lost some time before I got the bike. IS it possible to get the registration number from the frame number?
