CB500/550 / Painting the side cover emblems

Hi everyone,

Has anyone repainted the black outlines on the side cover emblems? If so, how did you do it and what paint type did you use? I have a GCSE in Art and not afraid to use it!

CB500/550 / Are these indicators in the wrong place?

Daft question, but as I was putting the indicators back on I noticed they are set further back compared to pictures I have seen. The pictures show the indicators coming from the side of the headlamp.

Are mine odd? And if so, why? (no rude answers!)

New Member Introductions / New member after buying a CB500 K1

Hi all,

Just bought a 1972 Honda Cb500 K1 from those lovely guys at DK Motorcycles in Stoke. Some great bits on it, some good bits and some needing attention. It's my winter project bike to keep me out of the way, much to my wife's despair!

I also own a Honda 2000 CBR 929 Fireblade (is that a dirty word on this site?!). Love them both.

I'll be asking all sorts of advice here, and hopefully help other people out along the way.

CB500/550 / Oil cooler on a 1972 CB500 K1. Should it stay or should it go?

Hi all,

I've just bought a 1972 Honda CB500 K1 as a winter project bike. I was going over it and discovered it has the optional oil cooler (little radiator, feeds into an oil filter adapter plate, etc.) and would like your opinion as 1. Do I need one for the UK? 2. Would it do more harm than good removing it and returning to standard?
