Hi,
Just brought a Honda CB750K6 in blue, the cylinder block and top end fins are black is this standard for the 1976 model- still waiting to get some paperwork on the bike
-
I didn't think the matt black finish was introduced until the F2 and K7 in 1977, it could be you have an F2 top end
-
Or more likely that the PO has painted the barrels and head black - I did on my old 500/4.

Smudge,
Welcome.
Which part of the world are you from?
Cheers,
Jim.

Smudge,
Does the black look that bad? Is this the bike that was on ebay in Rutland?
Jim.

Smudge, Looks ok,
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Email me a bigger pic with the model and year and I'll put it in the Gallery.
My view is, it doesn't matter what it looks like as long as you own one. (http://www.honda-sohc.co.uk/components/com_joomlaboard/uploaded/images/P1010026.JPG)
My F has been a running joke, (Well standing Joke) with friend and family for 4 years

My K6 has a black block and fins,
It has been suggested to me that some K6's were fitted with engines intended for the F1/F2, due to temporary shortages in the factory. Don't know if thats true or not!!
I'm leaving mine black cos it looks well. (http://www.honda-sohc.co.uk/components/com_joomlaboard/uploaded/images/DSCF0001a.JPG)
