Hi, can anyone tell me if they have ever fitted a slightly longer bolt in the crankcase. I was just torquing down to do a plastigauge test and what is no.2 bolt on the diagrams will not tighten down. The bolts are M8 x 140 1.25 pitch. If i put the bolt in the top half of the casing without the bottom fitted it bites fine and i think it would torque down ok. I was thinking about putting a bolt 145mm long in and see what happens. Has anyone got any thoughts on this? Thanks in advance

Evening all. I am in a bit of a dilemma. I bought a K5 frame and lots of bits. I have the title and the nova certificate but it is not UK registered yet. I have fully stripped the engine down which I have found out is a K6 and the case is away being vapour blasted.
My dilemma is whether or not to carry on with the project or sell it as it is with the bits I have already done to it and purchase a bike that I have had in the past that really has me interested.
Any thoughts?

Hi all, can anyone recommend where to get a full set of gaskets? i am replacing every one and all the oil seals/o rings throughout the whole engine. Any recommends would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Anyone interested in possibly swapping or PX a set of PD41 carbs for a set that will fit a 750 K6 engine? I dont know anything about the history of them. The bike (or bits of a bike) i bought is a K5 frame and a K6 engine.

Evening all. What are the general thoughts on using the original bearing journals? i have stripped the engine down and they look good. Would you just plastigauge them when reassembling or go for new?

Evening all. i am after some advice if possible from the font of knowledge on here. I am struggling to separate my engine cases. I have followed the good ole Haynes manual to the letter but i just cannot seem to separate them. Have tried lots of different size persuasion tools but they just wont budge. Is there a bolt that the book doesn't show? Do you need to remove the alternator off the shaft? i have seen many videos where they don't. Is there a bolt under the sump plate near the oil pump? Any ideas are welcome. Thanks

Hi, thought i had better move to a proper page and away from the newbies intro page and start a thread purely for my resto. Its a big task i have taken on especially knowing that there is lots of parts missing and working out whats not there!!
Still lots of fun tinkering in the garage and playing on the net searching for bits. Not 100% sure wether or not to try and go as near to original as possible or because the engine is one year different from the frame go for a cafe/unique look and just make something i like.

Hi everyone. Thanks to Julie Seal for the recommend to the site. I am new to the CB750 K series but i have purchased a K5 frame and its engine is a K6 which have come from the States There are lots of bits missing and i will be constantly on the look out for bits but more importantly it will be great to draw on all your knowledge and experience if you don't mind. Looking forward to seeing some of your rides, either standard or cafe. Not sure which way i want to go yet. Cheers
