Hi
Today she ran for first time.all seems well.i have comstars(for now) which I quite like.need tyres.read some old posts,thought I would ask current opinion.my rims are F: 1.85x19. R:1.85x18
All opinions appreciated.stickiness and ride ability more important than original looking.thanks Paul

I prefer Avon Roadrider AM26.
they grip well, wet and dry, give a secure feeling, also seems to help the handling

Thanks what sizes did you choose could you have gone wider.

I use road riders, size wise better sticking to the size wheels were made for.

Apparently. There is a real shortage of tyres in classic sizes at the moment.

BT45’s

I've used TT100's since the 1970's and still use them now, although the CB750 has Metzeler fitted (replaced one rear since buying it 8,000 miles ago) and they seem fine to me as well.

I use Avon Roadriders on mine, standard sizes. Your front Comstar is bigger diameter than the standard 18in so that might give a tight clearance on the mudguard.
If you go wider on the rear tyre there is very little clearance at the swingarm and chain.
Measure carefully before you commit.

I fitted Avon Roadriders on my 400 a couple of years ago and found them to be ok although I don't tend to go out when it's wet. I've just fitted Roadriders to the CX500 I'm currently restoring which has Comstars.
