Just wondered on the off chance whether anyone was selling a Delkevic 4 into 1 exhaust system for a cb550f, I was looking for the straight silencer version or just the headers with collector.

I'm doing as much plating of all parts on mymy CB550 as I can while I'm working my way through the rebuilding process, is there a way to replate springs that will get the plating onto the contacting coils? I presume they would have been made from preplated wire originally.

Before I complete my engine rebuild I want to make sure I'm not missing a trick by getting my cam reprofiled, is it worth circa £180 to have it done or will I not notice the difference? (in reality I won't as I've not ridden this bike yet)
Will it change the sound of the bike at all?

Can any one throw any light on why my right side cover doesn't fit my bike? I'll upload a photo but the last lug is nowhere near fitting the cutout in the frame, doesn't appear bent or welded.

This might not go down too well with some people but im doing a bit of a cafe racer type conversion on my fairly untidy and not very original cb550f, I do intend keeping any lopped off bits so there is the potential for reversal in the future.
My question is will I need a hoop with a kick up to clear the rear wheel under suspension compression? I see many that use a straight hoop, do they just run stiffer rear shocks or less travel or something?

I'm thinking of getting a Gateros zinc plating kit but I'm cautious of going overboard and buying the full kit, is the basic 5ltr kit with out the power supply going to get me reliable results n smaller items like engine bolts and carb brackets?

On reassembly of my crankcases should I put a very thin smear of Hondabond on the oil seals that aren't on the case half joints ie selector drum seal?

I'm on the lookout for a new gear lever for my f1, cmsnl suggests they are a different part to that fitted to K models, that's surely not the case is it?

The one tab on my lock washer, part number 90433283000, has broken off, DS are saying they are no longer available so has anyone either got one available or know of a source? Might have to dip into Kens or Bryan's personal stash!

My parents have a few old bikes in fair to poor condition, one is literally a box of bits with probably a fair bit missing. Is there anyone on here who might be able to give me an idea as to the value of them? I can post photos if needed.

David Silver don't do an engine oil seal kit for a 550F, is the 500 kit essentially the same but missing the blanking plug?

For those that have done the coil fix that Ash has detailed in Aladdinds Cave, is there a more readily available filler such as silicone that can be used? I can't justify ordering such a large amount of high dielectric epoxy just for four holes, I've got ordinary epoxy resin if that would work?
