Many years ago i was driving a firms escort van to JCB to collect some new hydraulic breakers for the hire firm i worked for. I was passed by a "posh" car with a JCB reg going at seed then about 5 miles later passed it parked in a ditch!

There are special pullers that expand inside the centre race with a small lip at the bottom to go under the race, cost a fortune though. I have had success before with an old style rawbolt or if a plain bush like a spigot bearing grease and tap in a decent fit bar, just like you did with bread, i gues the bread got into the race and gummed it whilst grease would just push out

I am guessing these are for a 500 or 550 but exactly where do they go? I have some pattern mudguard ones that may be modifyable

There is no such thing as a 1979 CB 550K in fact in UK there is not even a 78 model only 77 which could have been registered late due to poor sales. You can not get from Honda just the bottom part and a lock set, or even just a genuine ignition switch are both megabucks. You can get a complete pattern switch for about £50. As i said Emgo used to sell just the electrical part but you would need to find a supplier, in the 70's there were lots but not now

At one time you could buy just the bottom plastic connection part but might be difficult to find now, Emgo did a pattern one BUT there are two types that do not interchange. It is possible with care to dissasemble and clean the contacts, no johnny five!

Most bulbs you get today are wrong for these fittments as they can be 4watt and torpedo shaped glass a far better one with round glass and 12v 2.2watt is the Lucas LLB643 which i believe is originally for older Jaguars

That is still less than Honda would want for it, just need the right person!
