My oil pump had about the same mileage as yours when it got pulled out during a wider rebuild and had all it's seals changed ( courtesy Julie) it works fine.

It had a top end rebuild in 2019 with a DSS gasket set and had been fine until about 6 months ago when it started leaking.Later models had the length of the cylinder head studs revised, as to whether you can retrofit I don't know, but there will be someone here who can answer that. 18

As a matter of interest, do you have a very early CB400F? I gather Honda made some subtle amendments to later models to redress an issue with leaky heads.

About a year ago my leaky head was cured with DSS parts as part of a wider rebuild, no problems so far is all I can say.

I feel sorry for these homeless snails! When you ride over a slug on the drive they go POP, when you ride over a snail they go CRUNCH! On a wet night the last few yards of your journey can sound like riding through a plate of Ricicles, snap crackle and pop!

I never got around to my flu jab but once I'm a bit better I'll go get it. I'll ask about covid too. Once I do ride I'll keep it to shorter trips a while and wrap a scarf around my boatrace, I ride with an open face lid. 23

I would disconnect the battery of anything to be laid up because of the fire risk issue.

Well, I don't have a garage myself. But while you are tucking yours to bed I'm gingerly getting ready for my first longish ride in weeks as I'm recovering from my first ever dose of pneumonia that came with a wider chest infection. Just wondering, are there many of us who approach winter riding with their health in mind. My pneumonia was community acquired but I'm not going to push the envelope too far I don't want to end up on a ward for five days again!

You think this is a problem? Did you ever ride a 1981 Triumph Thunderbird and manage to keep your foot on the rest at all?
