CB350/400 / Cylinder Head Re-Torque
« on: November 10, 2020, 11:38:30 AM »
Bit of advice please, I've only done 26 miles on the bike since rebuild. At what mileage should I think about re-torqueing the head down?
Thanks.

CB350/400 / Piranha Electronic Ignition Timing
« on: August 20, 2020, 10:40:59 AM »
My 78 F2 garage find came to me with Piranha ignition fitted. I did a full strip down of the engine so marked all the ignition plates so I could replace exactly when rebuilding.
So rebuilt and checked static timing as per Piranha instructions and all seemed to line up well with timing marks and dots on plates pre-strip down.
Pirhana instructions recommend timing with a strobe light so bought a Gunson Xenon unit.
Followed the Pirhana instructions to time in at 3000 rpm but in doing so I have moved the timing plate to its maximum position before running out of adjustment. Odd.
Not happy with that big change.
So my question is has anybody done a static Pirhana timing with a bulb as per points system? And how to connect up?
Thanks.

CB350/400 / Classic Insurance
« on: July 18, 2020, 10:03:07 AM »
Recommendations please.
Just going through registering as a classic motorbike and exemption from MOT.
So next step will be insuring the bike.
Can anybody recommend an insurance company for an old fart rider on very limited mileage.
Thanks,
Steve

CB350/400 / Lacquering Tank - Decals on or off
« on: May 31, 2020, 08:38:28 PM »
Your collective advice please. I have sprayed the tank and side panels, Candy Red equivalent. Really happy with the finish after 5 coats.
Now do I apply the decals first then lacquer or lacquer first then lacquer?
Sorry if a daft question.

CB350/400 / HONDA name decals
« on: May 07, 2020, 07:50:37 PM »
I've been two years on my 78 F2, having done a full strip down, and I mean full, bare frame, engine in a thousand pieces.
It's back together and I got it started, eventually, after 2 massive backfires, read the Piranha blurb which suggested timing out 180 degrees.
It was, sorted and started.
Finishing touches now, I am about to attempt to respray the tank and side panels after repairs to massive 'dropped' dents in the tank.
Got decals from DS for Candy Antares Red tank and panels apart from the name 'HONDA' for the tank.
DS cannot supply this due to name ownership.
I would be grateful if anybody on here can recommend a supplier of the correct HONDA name decals.
Thanks.

CB350/400 / Which Exhaust System
« on: December 09, 2019, 10:28:03 PM »
Hi all, I asked this question back in August as to which system I should fit. Only just getting round to arranging one now.
DS are out of stock again of the 4 into 1 and haven't had the muffler for some time so I rang Delkevic to ask about their system.
My 400/4 is a '78 with rear foot rests mounted on the frame.
The chap at Delkevic advised that their system with muffler only fits 400/4 with rear foot rests on the swing arm.
Has anybody on here fitted a Delkevic system to a 400/4 with frame mounted foot rests and if yes, what mods were made?
Thanks.

CB350/400 / Which Exhaust System Should I Fit
« on: August 08, 2019, 07:08:17 PM »
Hello everybody. My first time on this excellent forum. Currently in the final throes of putting my 400/4 F2 back together. It hadn't run since 1992 and was in some state when I got it last year. The exhaust manifolds and silencer went in the bin so my question is what do you recommend in terms of a replacement system.
DS does not have any in stock yet. There are stainless systems available.
Is it possible to pick up good used systems?
Your collective thoughts would be much appreciated.
