Hi,
I've emailed a couple of people in your club but got nowhere, so I was hoping one of you can help me.
I'm in the Vincent Owners Club and we are helping the Tramway Museum in Crich, Derbyshire to run a 'Classic Motorcycle Day on Sunday 2nd July 2017'
It's a one day event at the Tramway Museum on Sunday 2nd July 2017 and all exhibitors enter for free, which includes full access to the museum.
People can enter individually and/or owners clubs can have a stand and registration is via www.tramway.co.uk, starting in January.
All I need is a single point of contact so we can invite your club, that is presuming your club would be interested
We have a Facebook page for the event, called 'National Tramway Museum Classic Motorcycle Day' which we want people to look at and that will have most things on it and all the updates, plus anyone can ask questions on there.
I hope this is enough information for the time being and hope you are interested.
Can you let me have a single point of contact for your club.
Regards
Jon Lambley

this is interesting,
Derby is fairly central,
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Crich+Tramway+Village/@53.090312,-1.486716,11z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x9a9d7b4fb60dc063!8m2!3d53.090312!4d-1.486716
what do others think ???
-
I would be in as long as the date works around holidays - the wife hasn't planned that far ahead yet!
-
Live about 8 miles from there. Happy to act as contact if required.
Tim
-
just checked the date,it doesn't clash with Moto GP,it the week after Assen,
looking even more likely ,
-
Thanks for the replies everyone. When you decide if you are coming/interested, can your nominated single point of contact drop me an email to lambley705@gmail.com and we'll go from there.
Thanks
Jon ;D
-
Here is a flyer for the event as well guys. Feel free to post on your facebook page or put it in your club magazine.
Remember we are on Facebook, just search for 'National Tramway Museum Classic Motorcycle Day'
-

Tim
That could be useful, thanks for the offer.
Anyone else possibly interested or got any other comments or thoughts?
There have been various comments made about meeting up at some point - here is an opportunity with the likelihood of other interesting bikes to look at.
-
Yes, thanks for offering Tim and yes Chris, could be another opportunity for some forum members to meet up.
-
Can I suggest we offer up ideas of what we could do? Shall we simply have a stand and show off our shiny bikes as a group?
If we post some ideas, we can then hopefully agree on a format. Knowing this, we could then register for the show knowing our requirements.
This all assumes enough genuine interest that people will commit to.....
Tim
-
Sounds good. This is all assuming it's FOC ;D ;D. Has anyone told Jon that we are not actually a 'club' but a forum (a very well supported one though)?
-
I would like to attend, never been to that part of the world,
so will pencil it in the diary
-
Julie - contacted Jon on your points. Its free to all exhibitionists :P -(including any stand space) and no issue with us being a forum, not a club

Should we take Tim up on his kind offer and get him to register on our behalf?
As to format I would be happy with Tim's suggestion i.e. to show off our shiny bikes as a group (have to get the polish out then).
If we are as a group it sort of feels as if we should have some sort of identifying logo.
I quite like the 'Dawn of the Superbike Era' logo that is shown on the merchandise page of the US site.
Unfortunately my image modifying skills don't extend to tweaking this to suggest a UK version.
Any other thoughts?
-
I agree,
this is more than just a forum ,it has the feel of a club, although being internet based and distance between members being an issue,
in 2015 we (some forum members ) made an effort and met at the VJMC Sammy Miller museum, next year this could be "our" annual
club meet !!! only being near Derby should/could attract different members,
living in the west midlands am lucky enough not to be to far from lots of places,so would enjoy going to a meet up again,
as for the Logo,I will go with the flo !!!
-
I'm game for going to that, but can't contribute a bike. Unless you want a barn find "before" exhibit. ;D
-
Think the central position of the event good idea for more of us to come Also you are on the edge if the Peak district here for gods sake! Roads and views made in heaven (not biased mind).
Like the other ideas for format. Yes we are a about more than a forum and lets see this as building on that !
Maybe an incentive to actually start doing my 400! Although sure I'm not going have it done by then, gladly do the contact bit.
Lets have some more definites and I will instigate artical 50 with Jon!
Tim
-
Count me in.
-
Count Trigger and myself in as well
-
Before anyone mentions that Trigger went to the SOHC meet as Sammy Millers last year on the Thundercat and not an SOHC Honda, there is no guarantee what he will turn up on next year but, I bet my last pound it won't be a Honda SOHC 4 cylinder, so apologies now ;D ;D ;D ;D

Trigger probably knows more about sohc, but its not compulsary to ride one !! as long as his better half rides her sohc, that
will be more important
see you there !!!!
-
That's exactly what he says John. Just because he rebuilds Honda SOHC engines all day, he doesn't have to ride them. As long as it's got 2 wheels, he's a happy bunny.
-
Bump
Any more interest? This could be a good meet up irrespective of show itself. Come on go for it!
-
i'm interested will clarify nearer the time
-
Count me in assuming no holiday clashes etc come up but unlikely on that date - we tend to hols late Aug
Be great to meet some of yu guys that were so helpful on my rebuild.
Not to mention showing off the fruits of my labours !!!

Sounds like we should at least have a quorum.
Tim, are you happy to now register our interest with Jon?
As for whether we are just there as a group or maybe have a stand of some sort that is still open for comments.
-
Quorum - love it Chris. Obviously sat in too many meetings.
The deed is done I have emailed Jon. No high court ruling requird here!
Lets make this good day.
Tim

Rota checked for next year I can make it

Looking forward to it already. It will be nice to see some old faces and some new. Thanks for acting as go between Tim.
Mmmmm, Quorum, Oh how I don't miss meetings !!!!

Mick
-
Well if mine is finished I will be making that day out. A good way to say thank you to everyone that has helped me so far and to those that haven't yet but will.
-
I have emailed the organisers to say we will be attending. A count of us expressing an interest came to 14! I have referred to numbers as 10 -15 and said this may change either way. We need to firm numbers up in the new year.
Any more interested???
I will keep the forum posted on this. In the mean time, please find copy of their letter emailed to me.

Ok that didn't work, so I am rubbish at including attachments. How do I include PDF file in a post....
-
I would just copy and paste on to the forum (I am pleased I'm not the only Luddite around!!!)
-
Yes nurse, what ever you prescribe! - as below. Would still like to know from those more gifted than I how I insert a PDF document.
(I have responded to the letter below on behalf of the forum per earlier post today )
Dear Motorcycle Club Organiser,
On Sunday the 2nd of July 2017 a 'Classic Motorcycle Day' is being held at the National Tramway Museum in Crich, Derbyshire, which is being jointly organised by the Vincent Owners Club (East Midlands Section) and the Crich Tramway Village, home to The National Tramway Museum.
The Tramway Museum is a charitable organisation mainly run by volunteers and several years ago they held a similar event which we, like them, are very keen to see run again. We also want it to be as big as possible and to run it every year.
The reason I am writing to you, is to invite your club to this event along with your motorcycles, with the aim of getting as many motorcycle clubs there as we can. That way the public can see a wide range of motorcycles and the various club members can network as they normally do.
The event is open to motorcycles built prior to January 1992 and entry is free for any rider and their classic motorcycle, provided that they are booked in advance, and this includes free access to the whole museum. Pillion passengers and support crew will have to pay for entry, either at a one-off group rate or they might consider paying full rate which then entitles them to free re-entry to the museum for 12 months.
A designated area of the main car park will also be allocated for more modern motorcycles and parking is free.
The event is being held outside on mostly paved or cobbled areas, so no matter what the weather your motorcycles will be on solid ground. We will also be submitting a request for glorious weather but unfortunately we cannot guarantee it.
Once you decide your club is attending the event or not, it would be useful, for planning purposes, to know an approximate number that will be attending. Pre-booking is essential and facilities for this will be available early in the New Year.
You can notify us either by letter to;
The National Tramway Museum, FAO Gordon Burch, Crich Tramway Village, MATLOCK, Derbyshire. DE4 5DP
or by email to: gordon.burch@tramway.co.uk Telephone: 01773 854361
We look forward to hearing from you and are hoping to stage a great classic motorcycle event.
Yours Sincerely
Jon Lambley
The Vincent Owners Club (East Midlands Section)
-
Your learning Tim, trust me I'm a Nurse 😊😊😊 As far as I'm aware you can't upload a PDF file to a post, only a link to a PDF that's on tinternet. I could be totally wrong on that, Steve will be the one who can answer that question.
-
entered in my planner,
along with the Classic TT,Calne Bike day,and a few others,
see you all there !!!
-
I'm up for this, it's not a million miles from here, and I get to meet you reprobates and see your SOHCs.
-
Reprobates? How very dare you! - now anoraks maybe!
Yeh should be good meet up.
-
count me in please

Hi,
Just to keep all informed I have received the tickets for this event. Based on the numbers indicating initial interest I went for 15, however I indicated this could change either way (hopefully upwards).
Just looked through the post and those listed below are named and shamed as showing interest.
John Webley, Chris440F, Pops400, Laverda 120, Nurse Julie, Trigger, Clive, Paulbaker1954, Yozza74, Green1 (x 2), Onethumb, Mr Davo, Hondaarc166, Rozabikes (me)
Please underline this in your diaries (2nd July) and let me know if you cannot make it. ALSO MORE TAKERS WELCOME but let me know re freebee tickets (only if on a bike).
I know I am just acting as a contact point for the forum but can I suggest we have some brainstorming as to how we "exibit ourselves" :P. Shall we just keep the format simple trestle table surrounded by shiny Hondas. Any interesting Honda artifacts / literature. SOHC cut away engine? Ideas chaps please!
Tim
-
SOHC cut away engine?
Sorry Tim - I gave it to Sammy Miller.
Steve
-
We could always rock up in 1970's fancy dress😉😉😉😉
I'm thinking waxy Belstaff jackets, platform boots, open helmets with goggles😂😂😂
-
SOHC cut away engine?
Sorry Tim - I gave it to Sammy Miller.
Steve
Knew I had seen something on the site Steve. Any others out there chaps or idle retired engineers fancying a challenge! Seriously maybe just a SOHC head, old Brit pushrod job and a nasty modern DOHC version to show their relative efficiency?
Yes Paul why not? Perhaps we could get some mods in for a rumble too ;D.
-
Perhaps we could get some mods in for a rumble too
Back in the late 70's one hot bank holiday afternoon I went with a gang on bikes from the Town Hall pub in Eccles to the Irlam & Cadishead Festival, I think mainly because they were serving beer all afternoon, where an impromptu (and rather historically inaccurate) 'rumble' was informally organised between us and an equally worse for wear Viking re-enactment group. Not the best idea, as they had swords, though luckily not sharpened ones. At least both sides had helmets on.
As far as Belstaffs, open face lids etc go we'd look just the same as the Vincent crowd etc, so not for me, thanks. I think the bikes will speak for themselves. Plus my only open face lid is nearly as old as the bike, so not a good safety feature. Unusually I wore a Bell Star full face lid in the 70's, after seeing an ad in a US mag that said 'If you have a $10 head, then buy a $10 helmet'. I remember hearing a kid in a pushchair saying to his mum 'Look Mummy, a spaceman!'.
-
BUMP
This is only 2 months away now and nothing conctrete organised in tems of what we are doing? I know I was just the forum contact point on this but feel we should support them since they kindly invited us in the first place..... Are we going to sort some SOHC related display other than the bikes some of us hopefully turn up on? We had some good ideas but need to build on this. Engine parts were suggested but does anyone have any literature of Honda's history, especially 750 landmark bike etc.
Again can we put our thinking caps on please.
Also, I have recieved the freebe entry tickets for those who said they were coming on bikes representing the forum.
Tim
-
Doesn't time fly !!!. My personal view Tim is that the logistics of carrying parts to the show prohibits what parts we can display. I'm not adverse to carry SOHC bits in my rucksack but would probably prefer not to. Maybe we could get some flyers printed to hand out to advertise the forum ?
-
Just the stuff Julie. You OK handling the flier bit?
I will get the head off one of one of my 400 motors that needs stripping for rebuild and logistics not an issue as I live locally. May be able to locate a DOHC head for comparison. Anyone locate an old Brit pushrod head....???
Keep the ideas coming chaps "n" chapesses!
-
Yes Tim, I will sort something out but........be warned, a flyer producer has never been at the top of my CV, or anywhere else on the CV for that matter, so any help from anyone would be gratefully received.
-
just to confirm I plan on attending,
not sure if I have anything I could bring
-
I'm still planning on going cheers
-
I'm still in. I shall be bringing an older version of myself he will probably be on the 550.
I think that's enough. ;D
-

-
Put my name down too. Can't miss out on all the fun and games.
-
Thanks for your responses so far and looks like we will have a nice number of bikes coming. Just need some more ideas of items to display - literature etc. What you got in your libraries?
-
I will give it a go as well. Free ticket please. :)
-
Definitely count me in and I will definitely be on the 4
-
I plan on coming. How much are the free tickets? ;D

and for me !!

Is anybody camping up there, and if so - where to?
I don't fancy riding 3 1/2 hours, in the morning and another 3 1/2 hours the same day. I managed it years ago when I was dispatching but not now.
-
Got an email from one of the organisers. Obviously difficult to post an email but content as follows:-
Dear Club Organiser,
Below is a copy of an article which has been posted on our blog, with a Facebook link. It is also the basis of a press release and I thought that you might like to have the information.
[attachimg=1]
Thanks to the generosity of a local business, Derwent Waste Management, we have three cups to be competed for at our Classic Motorcycle Event which, this year, will be on Sunday 2nd July.
The winners of the cups, for ‘Best in Show’ (which will be chosen by our visitors on the day) ‘Best British Bike’ and ‘Best Foreign Bike’ (both of which will be selected by a panel of judges), will enjoy possession for 10 months until they have to be returned to Crich for next year’s event. However, the winners will keep a presentation medal as a lasting award for their win at Crich.
We are incredibly grateful to Derwent Waste Management for their sponsorship of awards, which will add greatly to what is to be an annual event.
ANY OF YOU GUYS GOING TO DO US PROUD?
Tim
-
I don't think anyone has had there free tickets yet.
I'm riding there and back in a day.
Got a little possy going as it will be me my dad with bro in tow (he can pay for his ticket ;D ) and petergreen
I guess we have to be there fairly early if the bikes are on show?
-
Yes ive got the tickets. Think i will see if I can leave them on the gate or something.... will look into it,
See if i can get a bit more info on timings to be there.

Hi Mike,
There are a few campsites near to the Tramway museum but possibly fully booked for reasons of the event itself....? However as very popular tourist area, many others about. Can't really specifically recommend anywhere but usual google search should sort it if you need somewhere.
-
I''m still planning to do a flyer advertising the forum but has anyone got access to a 'proper' printer as my small one at home will blow up under protest !!!.

"The event is open to motorcycles built prior to January 1992 and entry is free for any rider and their classic motorcycle, provided that they are booked in advance"
Would this include someone on a 91 reg Zephyr? I've got way too much left to do on my CB650C to have it ready in time, it's only four weeks away. :-[
-

could we supply reg numbers,?
-
Good idea. I will suggest it when I am in contact with organisers again.
-
I'm hoping to go there and put faces to a few of the SOHC names. I won't have a bike and assume I can just pay to get in, tried looking at the info sites for Crich but can't find an entry price apart from membership. Is there something I'm missing or do you have to take a subscription?
-
Will find out for you.

Thanks clunker, that's what I thought it was in a cost for general admission to the museum that gives a year's use as I see it.
Doesn't appear to be any arrangements to visit just the bikes and stand around talking about old motors all day.
Starts to add up with that and my fuel for getting up there.
-
No probs mate, does seem a bit steep though, especially when I wouldn't really be going to see the trams. :)
-
Can I clarify costs of entry. If Exibiting bike foc. Otherwise we can get tickets in advance at £10.50 adults, Senior citizens £9.50 and accompanied children £ £8.50. Pillions on show bike are chargeable.
Hope that softens things a bit if bikeless...
Please let me know numbers as we will need to order tickets in advance .
Tim
-
Thanks Tim for the info and your organisation of it.
I've got nearly 50 quid in fuel on top of the entry to come out family budget so trying to balance things overall. A little compromised by my son getting to the fuel allowance first as I took him up to Sheffield last weekend to collect a mountain bike that he'd saved up to buy.
I got to meet up with some of the others on here recently down at Ardingly so may have to postpone this one and see if something else comes around later.
-
will give a miss, cos bikes ackting up
-
2 please Tim. Thanks
-
I can't say in advance if I can get there, my Daughter is due home end of June or early July. Her employers arrange the flights so she won't know which flight or airport until the ticket is in her hands. Of course Dad's Taxi will be on 24hr call out.
-
one ticket for me please !!
-
Bit confused as to why people are ordering tickets? I thought if we'd already registered interest and were taking a bike, then our free entry was arranged (pending ticket collection tba).
Peter.
-
I am still up for it.

No need to worry. Post was really just for those having to pay as not on a sohc bike to show. Sorry if it read otherwise. I have 15 tickets covering initial stated interest and some have dropped out since too. No worries!
-
Thanks for clarification, are we going to meet somewhere near to pick up ticket from you or will you post them out to those committed to going ??
-
Right, just spoken the main man.
Yes we can leave tickets with carpark marshalls against name / registratiins. Gates open 9.30 but can arrive from 9am. We are expected to stay for a minimum of 3 hours if showing a bike.
Tried to get a specific idea of space allocation to us but they can't tell us yet as still taking bookings. Looking at 200 bikes so far, which in my mind is impressive but no expert on this type of event.
Can those coming please PM me with User name / real name / bike model and registration. On the email please specify if you need any extra tickets over and above the foc allocation for those on SOHC bike. HOWEVER IT HAS BEEN CLARIFIED THAT REDUCED RATE TICKETS CAN BE BOUGHT ON ENTRY. You will need some identicfication which I have indicated will be a copy of an email I will format and forward to all that are coming.
I will let you know my contact phone number by return PM so you have a contact on the day.
This should all work in my mind but let me know if I am being dim and overlooked anything..

Thanks for all the PM confirmations so far. I will wait a few days for any more and then send out some form of email to you confirming things for use to collect tickets on gate.
Anyone hoping to come that hasn't confirmed as yet, can I give you a nudge.....
Thanks

My Daughter has been in touch and is due home on June 27th so hopefully I'll see you guys there, but how will I know who you are???? I'll take a wild guess and look for a crowd around a bunch of SOHC Honda's ;)

Thought they did the eating - money!

Hi,
Julie has kindly done some model history summaries for those of you showing a bike. Think it would be great to add to this any story (especially photos) of resto work your bike has had. I am bringing my barn find 400 along to show what can be done from a rough starting point! Always knew if i held resto off long enoigh it would be useful!!!
Tim
-
We don't want to much info about the bikes otherwise everyone will pick fault with my bitsa :-X
-
You're mixing up 'to' and 'too' again. Different words entirely.
-
Sticky keyboard smart arse ;D
That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it.
-
Any update on ticket collection, meet points etc?
-
HI Paul,
Mad busy with work etc. Will hopefully sort pm email to present on entrance in next day or so.
Tim
-
Is anyone going on Saturday? I plan to chuck a tent up somewhere and have a few pints.
-
Sorry Mike can't do Saturday as its the busiest time of year for me and shouldn't really do Sunday.
Mick
-
Any update on ticket collection, meet points etc?
Thanks for PM Tim any idea how many are going?
-
Somewhere between10 and 15 Lower figure are definites, balance maybe etc.
-
Would have been nice to bring the K0 up but Son getting Married
on Saturday so i probably wouldn't be in a fit state. 8)
-
I'm sure someone will chauffer it for you! ;)
-
Sorry guys & gals can't make it as it clashes with Newark autojumble and I have already booked and paid for my pitch in advance.
-
LAST CALL!!
Sorry I feel like a bossy teacher!
Still awaiting a few confirmations of names and show bike model / reg for those going Sunday, despite PM's sent chasing. If you have not supplied this info you wont be able to get a freebe ticket at gate. PLEASE DO THIS ASAP if you are coming and if not attending after all, please advise...
Lecture over
Tim
-
I will be there as long as weather is ok 8)
-
Still coming, assuming tonight's fitting of new coils all goes to plan.
-
I will have to cry off due to my back wheel. :'(
-
Well that all went very well, until the very last minute when the throttle 'pull' cable snapped.
At least it broke in the garage and not on the road!
Tomorrow I'll do some ringing around to see if the man in Darren selling pattern cables on eBay will let me collect on Saturday or if Silvers do a next day courier service, the website is vague. Does anyone know? Not sure why it snapped, but it is the one that came with the bike so it could be ancient.
Still coming assuming I can get a cable.
-
A Large dealer may have one if you have such locally
-
Thanks Bryan I'll try the ones in Rochdale and Manchester first.

Having drawn a blank with the dealers, and failing to find anyone who offered a service guaranteeing a Saturday delivery ( plenty ready to take my money on the strength of a probable delivery) I jumped on the Harley and went to Darwen to get a pattern cable from the man on eBay.
Another fellow petrolhead, I probably spent as long taking bikes, classic cars and looking at his Z1000 restoration as it took to get there.
It just shows that in this virtual age, where we buy stuff from all over the globe, sometimes there is no substitute for getting off ones arse and actually going shopping for something. Assuming it fits ok (I took the old one to compare) see you all on Sunday.
-
Back wheel is now sorted and back in. I made the spacer today. So I should be attending god willing. :)
-
Is anyone going on Saturday? I plan to chuck a tent up somewhere and have a few pints.
Mike, you are welcome to chuck your tent up in my garden, I'm 18 miles South of the Tramway Museum (Derby) so we could plod up there Sunday morning, I'll be on my Zephyr as I'm getting a bit bogged in my CB. Got bog facilities, local Asian corner store and a range of takeaways. I don't do the local pubs but there is off road parking. Please let me know if you are interested. Regards, Clunker
-
Looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday. We should be there about 10-10.30 ish hopefully.
-
Thanks for the offer Clunker. I've made arrangements to park my tent in a pub garden in Shirland, about 5 miles away. It's in the Good Beer Guide with a tent-symbol. Best way to find a campsite in my opinion.

Shoulder of Mutton

Just got to work out how to save it to my retro flip phone now and then work out how to show my confirmation email on the gate.
Is this trip going to go the same way as the Sammy miller visit?
I only knew were to go because I bumped into Mike
-
You could print it off Mick, just in case!! We cant have you loitering around the gate looking all lost 😊😊
-
My computer doesn't let me print emails. ???
So I may need to sneak in behind you and Graham

Carrier pig would be faster
-
What time are people turning up.

Hoping to be there at 10 or just before.
Weather radar looks clear of rain so hoping it'll be a great day out.

looking forward to meeting you all,(again) !!!

My dad and I are both planning on being there by 10 but it all depends on whether the 550 behaves its self as it keeps running rich and failing plugs.

Mick, it is north west from Essex, just set your compass ;D
-
I don't use a compass I use the stars
-
I will be turning up on one of my star bikes ;), so will be meeting members that I have met before and some new faces.
-
Cor blimey not the 250u
Don't get it dirty ;D
-
I've parked my tent, drinking ale and reading my Jack Reacher book.
An uneventful trip with the newly built engine running faultlessly for 180 miles, spoilt only by my RH side panel falling off en route. Bummer.
-
A man of distinction! what Reacher are you on??
I've read them all and have pre-ordered the next. can't get enough.
Peter.
-
A Wanted Man. Just picked up Persuader at the pub for 50p.
-
Score
-
I've read them all too.
Have a great day you guys.
I'm still suffering from too much beer and sun on Friday in Hyde Park. Three tickets for Phil Collins as an Xmas present from my son. I'm more of a Blondie person (Debbie Harry was 72 yesterday) and I think they were actually better than the headline act.

Make sure you get lots of photos today guys. Would love to have made it...

I hope everyone got home ok, it was a great day out, and the weather was kind too.
The first thing I did when I got back was to reroute my throttle cables so they now go through the hole in the unicorn bracket same as green1's bike, and run down the near side.
Good to meet everyone, thanks so much for the organisation and the name tags with real name and forum handle. I think they should be compulsory in real life, but then I'm crap with names.
Many fabulous bikes, everything from a 1920s BSA V twin to an Ariel 3. I had a go on one once, while somewhat pissed at a rally, and had people diving for cover as I lost control- flat out, going from lock to lock in two planes at once.
I also learned more than I expected about trams. Who thought horse drawn trams were a thing? - how do they hold the pencils? I saw the last Sheffield tram - I remember going on these as a sprog, so was shocked to find those memories are pre September 1960!!
-
Glad you sorted them they were bugging the hell outta me ;D
Just got to get Paul to sort his out now ;)
-
glad all of you got home safe nice to meet all of you only had a 30 mile ride home :)
-
I went to say my goodbye's and you'd all disappeared :'(, hope you all had a good trip home. ;D
-
Check out the motor in "The Beast" or Excelsior if you prefer!
-
Maybe one day I'll work out this picture posting thingy.........but I doubt it >:([attachimg=1]
-
Great day yesterday and great to meet fellow members and especially those who answered my stupid questions during my rebuild.
Sad I had to leave before winning Best Bike Ha Ha Ha
Anyone know what did win, my vote went to the amazing Norvin Black Shadow near our little group and second to a beautifu Tribsa that took me back to my yout.
Best Honda - I am way too political to comment !!
Lovely ride home back to Warrington over the infamous "Cat and Fiddle" for once in glorious sunshine.
Many thanks to Julie for organising flyers and welcoming all and of course to Tim for exhibition planning and logistics.
Hopefully will run again next year
Couple of pics - wish I'd snapped more !
-
Beezers.......well that's it really![attachimg=1]
-
I overtook this bike on the way there, I waved to the rider and he waved back, I figured he was going to Crich. I wanted to ask the owner what it was but I never saw him, nobody else seemed to know what it was other than being an MV that is. :-\[attachimg=1]
-
Re my cable routing, the photos I used for guidance tell me that my brake hose should go through the same hole in the yoke - it doesn't.
However as I can't be arsed to rebleed my front brake system it can stay on the 'to do' list for now. :)
Sorry I missed you to say goodbye Clunker, I thought that little MV was lovely.
-
No worries Dave, how did the tram ride go? I hope that other guy got his full penny's worth of rides. Now this bike seriously had me drooling but I've always had a thing for the Hurricane, I'm sure Honda had this bike in mind when they styled the first 650 Nighthawk :-*[attachimg=1]
-
Another Beezer, this bike was incredibly huge irl, you had too see it in the flesh to appreciate the size of it.[attachimg=1]
-
Best in Show went to................oops! How did that get there! Seriously, not one Nighthawk ::)
-
One for Mike ;D[attachimg=1]
-
And finally a Z1, I can forsee a day when Z1 owners will start putting Zephyr 750 paint jobs on their bikes to give them some awesomeness![attachimg=1] 8)
-
Thanks clunker.
-
You are most welcome Mike, it was good to meet up with you guys and a cracking day out.
-
Anyone else got any pic's?..................Anybody?..............
