Seen a few threads on rebuilding wheels and think I might have a go as well.
I wondered what people do for the hubs - i.e. polish, paint, vapour blast or something else to get a good standard-ish finish that's reasonably durable?
Cheers,
Andy

I do mine with scotchbrite buffing wheel.

Wheels apart and hubs off to be blasted.
Looking at new rims and spokes - do people go for / recommend the DSS ones (they do a 'kit' of rims and spokes etc) or are there better options out there?
Not worried about total originality as I believe the replacement DID ones look different anyway.
Cheers,
Andy

We use the non genuine DID rims from Silver (identical to the genuine ones he sells but don't come in Honda brown paper 🙄🙄) and stainless spokes from Central Wheel Components.

Thanks Julie,
Sorry but a couple more questions - never done any wheels before so a bit unsure what to order - that's why i thought maybe the 'kit' was a good idea as I guess at least it should include everything and match up etc.
Are the rims you mention the ones shown as Takasago in the description?
Are the spokes not stainless from DS or is there another reason to order tjem separately?
Cheers,
Andy

Julie,
Sorry to revive this one but hope you can help.
Looking to sort the rims and spokes and just wanted to check which ones are the ones you mention as they seem to list a couple of different ones.
Also, do you order the spokes elsewhere as they are stainless rather than galv / BZP or something from DS.
Of course at the moment they aren't showing all the options they did a few weeks ago so guess they are out of stock of some. I did notice that Wemoto also show rims and spokes available and wondered if they are the same / similar to DS etc. or any good as an alternative if DS stay out of stock.
Cheers,
Andy

Hi Andy.
Sorry, I totally missed your previous post 😔
DS has the DID wheels in stock at present,( which are the ones I was referring to in the earlier post without the Honda packaging) and the stainless spokes come from Centeral Wheel Components. If you phone CWC and tell them you want stainless spokes for your bike, they will sort it out for you.

EDIT... Sorry, just seen the fronts are out of stock, phone Sliver and ask when new stock is coming in.
