Title: Engine Swap Sprocket Question
Post by: fiddlercrabus on March 10, 2007, 01:21:38 AM
Hey again,
I went to put the chain on my bike today, only to find that the front and rear sprockets do not accept the same size of chain. My engine(and front sprocket) is a '72, and the bike(and rear sprocket) is a '78 750F. Will an early rear sprocket mount to the later rim? Any info would be a big help!

Hey Fiddler,

The later models have a 'heavier' chain compaired to the earlier models,
630 instead of 530 size. 630=3/4\", 530=5/8\". Can't say for sure, but I think the sprockets will match. But like it's said: \"To measure is to know\".

Good luck.
