Title: YAMIYA 4 INTO 4 EXHAUSTS CB400/4
Post by: Nurse Julie on May 29, 2019, 02:39:54 PM
Anyone fancy a set of 4 into 4's for their CB400/4?. Yamiya are selling them off cheap because they are not selling and need to get rid of the stock. Work out about 1800 Euro.
Also, having read the description etc, I never knew the frame for the 398cc engine was different to the 408cc engine ....maybe just because of the rear foot pegs on the swing arm though, looking at the kit that comes with it.

Personally, I don't like the look of the 4 into 4's but that's because I think the original 4 into 1 on the 400/4 is so iconic and very sexy. But, I suppose if we are going to keep these old 400/4's going for another 40+ years, unless someone keeps making to the original shape / design,  we will have to have whatever is on the market in the future.

They look great, but then again I really like the swoopy standard four into one exhaust, if I had a 400/4 and the money I would buy a set and save my nice original 4 into 1 set.
Mind you I am of the age that when I was younger I remember that the works Honda's always had multiple pipes even the 250 and 297 sixes and I loved the look and sounds.
It all comes down to personal preferences and these can change, I remember fitting a 4:1 to my 750 K1, mind you I did carefully store the originals which were refitted when I sold the bike.

Cheers

Dennis

I'd love to have a set of these, but even for the reduced price my bike would be worth less than the pipes..and I can't afford them ;)

Y'know, I can fully understand the temptation of this system. Back in the days when I ran a CB750, the 4 pipe system really swayed me, and proclaimed to the world that you had a motorcycle with a 4 cylinder engine! Whilst I had that bike a chap at work bought one of these new fangled 400's, I had a quick ride round the block on it, and that along with the looks meant I was hooked, so in 1988 I bought one and still have it now. I looked at this advert for the 4 into 4 and thought it doesn't portray any particular image, then I saw the price, and the final nail in the coffin was the fact that you cannot use the centre stand!!!!! Sorry everybody, but I like my maintenance performed the easy way! Regards, Michael.
