I've been lurking her for a while, and now I have nabbed myself a 78 CB550 K3 in need of a rebuild. I'll be plumbing the extensive knowledge base here re tips on rebuilding and sourcing supplier and services over the coming months – wish me luck!
Cheers!

Welcome to the forum tbh I know nothing about the CB750's aside from looking cool back in the day.
Do not be misled by my ststus as sohc Master I am very much still a learner - good news is I am climbing out of the learning dip I can see the learning curve on the near horizon.

Hello and welcome to the forum, I have a 77 550k3 that I restored so any help I can pass on I will be delighted, although far more knowledgable people on here for sure.

Welcome, just down the road from you in Stokenchurch.

I love doing carbs, :D
Welcome to thje forum everyone's great on here and the more questions the better, you've never met more knowledgeable bunch of buggers in your life (not me I just bumble about but I have OCD so it helps) ;D
Enjoy the process, its very, very, rewarding.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!
The bike should be with me in a week or two and then I will take a good look at it before commencing the strip down – I'll be going for a non-standard mild-to-medium custom look, nothing too outrageous though – I'll start a project thread once it's here
It's been many years since I worked on a bike, in fact around 40 years, so my limited experience has faded – I had a fizzy, a DT100, a DT175, all of which I tinkered with and then moved over to cars, so expect lots of questions
Cheers!

Clearly Roo you've never done a bank of K3 carbs. I've seen jigsaws with no picture on the box look easier.
Best thing is to replace them with a set of 550F carbs. Need to use the inlet manifolds as well though.

That bad Ken?
In which case, I HATE carbs me, never enjoyed doing them. In fact I swapped mine for a set off an F2. Much easier ::) ::) ::) ;D

Welcome to the forum.
I'm something of a newbie here myself. There is a LOT of knowledge in this forum and a lot of helpful people here too.
I was going to wish you good luck with your project, but you won't need luck, just time and money, anything you'll need to know is right here!
Regards Robert
