My engine has had a rebore what sort of rev limit is sensible and for how long?
When is the ideal mileage for first oil & filter change?

First oil and filter change no shorter than 500 and not over 1000.
Ceiling rpm initially 5/6000 peak for 250 miles, then 7000 for another 250. After that no limit. It's realistically the linear speed of pistons that control it in my view and principally because of the "lapping" of the bore hone and rings that are most critical.
Anything fully rotating doesn't really need much consideration in terms of long term condition and so has insignificant impact on running in.

Totally agree with the figures given by K2, plus of course the engine has to be worked within those rev ranges. Running at a constant revs it will never be run in. As you live in Derbyshire, your road system there is ideal, take to the hills working it up and down through the gears, plenty of reasonable acceleration and deceleration. Have fun. Mike.

Might go for Leek or Buxton next !
