Looks like a good start, I've had worse (probably) and currently have 3 such 'projects' waiting for attention in the future. Good luck with it. Mine will remain in the barn until a years worth min of Diy gets done - young family on the way, bikes take a rear seat for now, as long as 1 is on the road all is well.

Great stuff, not mad at all.

My bike looked as bad as that and now fifteen years later it still does :), almost, the only difference is it works now!

Would be nice if you had an engine to go with it...

Hope that you didn't pay anything for it either...

I now it's a lot of work to go but it feels really nice to get those black bits back all nicely finished, looks like quite a nice finish as well.

Very impressed with the work. My honest impression when you started this thread was you had bitten too much off. Seems like it is me who will be biting some humble pie!  Hats off to you, top marks. Skills aside, where do you guys find the time?

Indeed, what a brave choice of 'vintage candy colour scheme'...  ;D
Enforcing associations to airborn insects...  ;)
It will raise attention, that's for sure  8)

But kudos to work and efforts, resurrection of a barn find is quite a task... thumbs up on that.
