Out of interest, can any one enlighten me to the function of the adjuster(?) in the attached pics. I can't find any reference to it in any of my manuals ?
-
It’s to adjust the butterfly so that the throttles don’t close completely when you roll the throttle shut, to stop the engine stalling, it’s in the workshop manual.

Cheers Oddjob, found it ! But is this adjustment done before or after bench syncing, don't tell me gotta take the b####y carbs off again. 😏

If you didn’t touch it then it should still be factory set, you’ll most likely be able to do it on the bike if you find it needs doing. Should ideally be done before the bench sync

Bugger! 🤬
Fully stripped , cleaned , greased etc

Wouldn't worry to much about it Bill, the throttle speed screw does roughly the same job except it's possible to override that if you twist the throttle grip fully closed hard, that forces the butterfly to shut further against the spring pressure.

Cheers! Everyday is a school day 👍😏

On my 500 I used it as an idle adjuster between cold & hot engine idle speed - that might improve after the rebuild but I have it in my head that it was linked to the cruder older carb design.
I now have a screw adjustment/ramp arrangement to fit to the throttle to make it easier.
