Wow! Thank you all for your replies, I feel welcomed and at home already.
To answer a few of the questions raised:
The chassis number is 1065580. I will take some pics and post them for you all to see and I can't identify the wheel manufacturer.
The good news is: I had the legendary Nick Marshall here today and with a few tinkles and a pot of fuel he had the engine running like a sewing machine! Four years in storage and it fired up second attempt. Now that says something for the old gal eh?
Oh yeh..... has anybody out there got a kickstart lever for a 400f they want to sell please?
Thanks again.
Vince.

Howdy All, or as they say in Lincolnshire "Now then"
I guess you could say I am an accidental biker. I have only been involved with 2 wheels for the past two years and that came about through the interest of a few of my students and the constant repairing of their pit bikes!

The bug finally bit and I set about the total rebuild of a NSR125f Adriattico 11 and couple of Yam dirt bikes.

This week I become the proud owner of a CB400f which I am going to restore from the ground up - hence joining the fold.

All I need to do is pass me bike test so I can ride them!  :D

Evening All.

I have just acquired a 400f which was imported from Belgium some years ago and although 99.9% complete and running I intend to strip and restore it.

The bike has alloy wheels and I would like to know if these were ever fitted ex-works to these machines?

Also I do not know the year of manufacture. The frame number is 1065580 - can anybody help nail it down please?

Will post some pics as work progresses.

Cheers

Vince.
