I have a none standard front headlamp & bowl - wasn't fussed that it had no integral sidelamp as I planned to fit some sort of LED low whattage daytime running light.

I've retro fitted quite a few on cars but I have no idea who makes them for bikes I guess there is a custom market place somewhere.

I was thinking it could be mounted somewhere under the heaadlamp - lots of room methinks.

Where is the actual switch located as I do not seem to have one - was it actually fitted to UK models I haven't spotted it on my strip down?

I had a look at the front wheel bearing arrangement  today and there are a few obvious differences from the rear wheel arrangement.

There is a lock ring for the brake disc side of the front hub to hold the nearside wheel bearing - there are no central fins to hold the wheel spacer in position, neither is there a shoulder for the offside wheel bearing to but up against - this seems to be done by the retainer cover & speedometer gearbox plate on the offside of the wheel?

Is there some trick to holding the centre wheel spacer in position whilst fitting the last bearing?

Okay it unlikely to be happening until next spring but am looking for ideas. The light blue of my existing tank & side panels is all wrong with my blue frame and gold wheels. Wendy thinks it should be a dark blue or black metallic. I'm still considering a dark blue based chain mail transfer dip. I'm trying to think outside the box.

My rear mudguard only has three holes for the rear number plate bracket I assume this isn't original as the grommets on the plate holder indicate four mounting points?

I can fit the unit by using the two upper rubber cushion mounts and the centre bolt hole on the bottom bracket as it was when I took it off.
Parts manual not much help as it appears to just show the upper mounts.

Is it for the USA model ?

I'm in the process of replacing my front & rear wheel bearings - the new Toyo bearings come with seals fitted to both sides unlike the old ones that just have one side with a built in seal.

Is this just later design - sealed - greased for life?

I can't see the purpose of the lock rings as they are only fitted to one side of the wheels - it seems an odd design to have one side that's effectively a press fit yet the other side has a lock ring?

The four clips for the cylinder head carb mounts are priced at £8.70 each at DS is there a similar SS band clip available anywhere?

Of the four clips two of mine are somewhat out of shape does anyone use anything else that works & looks okay?
