Desperately Seeking!! / Cb400f /cb550f front mudguards
« on: November 03, 2022, 06:14:33 PM »
Hi all following my earlier beg, I’m now after a front mudguard for a 550F and one for a 400f also. I don’t care how shagged out they are I really only want them for the inner brace to manufacture my own shorter mudguards so they can be as bent twisted, rusty, painted brown I’m not bothered. I really only want them as they fit the forks.

‘Sheckles’ await anyone wanting rid of some scrap and anything considered.

Cheers all thanks for reading my badly typed begging request.

You've probably seen it but just stumbled over this. What a great noise these make! Especially in anger like this, get the howl of this thing when the tickle stick's twisted.

This lad can cab on mind, not sure about some of the lines of the other chaps, they were all over but he was getting on. Well impressed with that and such a cracking bike too!

Enjoy 8)

Bet you thought......Eh? ;D ;D

Right, heres a random one for you.

I have several tropical tanks that a couple of times a year need a bit of  a 'hair cut' as they get a bit mental and they block the lamps light into the water.
I'm on for one in the next few days but dont want to throw away all the floating plants that I dont need as theyre too good and would cost a few quid if I had to replace them from ebay or the shop.
The small one is Amazon Fogbit or Limnobium laevigatum the big ones are, Pistia stratoites .

I use them predominantly as Nitrate sponges meanng that I dont have to do water changes and just top ups. Nice and easy and no upheaval faffing about with buckets etc. the hanging roots are great in the tank and the shrimps and fish always hang about in them which is great cover. The Neons will even spawn given a big enough temp drop they find it that comfortable. Anyway, waffle, waffle.

If you want some FOC drop me a pm and I'll bob some in the post. First come first serve. Cant be bothered to put em on ebay and thought some of the lovely forum folk might want  some for their own tanks if any of you have any?

Told you it was an odd one ;) :D

« on: August 04, 2022, 11:53:15 PM »
Evening all.
Having a bit of a clear out and still have one or two bits and bobs for the 78 400/4 that are surplus to requirements and need to go as I need the space. Sorry, the Long Haired General needs the space

If anybody would like any of this, let me know. I don’t want anything for any of it except postage Or what might be cool is if you’d make a donation to the forum instead of paying me or I’ll even drop it off if you’re near ish.
The seats in really good nick and would nanny up quite well but apart from muck, they’re all good parts. The rust staining is when the gutter split and water from a bucket full of nails overflowed onto it. It rub
s off with a finger and underneath is in fairly good nick, it just wants a wash. Similar to the air box plastic, that was in the same tote!!!

Anyway, have a gander and drop me a pm.

Cheers

CB500/550 / USA scrap yards
« on: June 11, 2022, 02:08:36 AM »
Hiya,
As some of you know, I'm over the pond for a month rescue-ing  a fish farm in south Carolina. This however has given me the chance to get to a couple of local ish, bike scrappers. I'm going next week (prob Thursday) so if there's anything you need and want me to scout for, let me know. If any good and I can hoard some stuff, I'll ship it over in one hit so it'll be a share of the postage if you're interested. I'm not buying frames and huge things but if there's anything you want, let me know and I'll see what I can do. I can swap wattsapp piccies so you can see what I'm looking at but beware theres a 5 hour time difference to where I am. PM me and I'll do the best I can for you.

Yee Haaa  and indeed, whoop whoop etc

Roo ;)

Anybody got one of these before I get robbed from the states and order one?

Mines beyond plating as it’s so badly pitted, had a go at it today but given up, I’d rather just get a better one.

Let me know

Evening all, has anybody got a spare plate that holds all the electrics on behind the left hand side panel?
The part number in the book is .....50330-390-000 Plate Electric Complete

I'm not bothered what the condition as its going to be used as a pattern or bastardised to suit what's being fitted. There are a few on the 'Bay of Fleas' but not fort hat money.

Even if you dont need it for a hit and I can make a pattern off it, that would be enormously helpful.

Anyone?................tumble weeds! ;)

CB500/550 / 550 F2 started!
« on: November 13, 2021, 09:32:00 PM »
Had a free afternoon so set about something stimulating to stay ahead of what’s happening on ‘Mejima’

Carbs off and fully stripped but not seen green residue before, it got brighter the older and drier it got…..how queer!

Opened up and no float retainers, so that’s the first blag/purchase request. Anybody got 4 they want to part with?

I’ll order a new main spring, as you can see, interesting alternative figment

The sonic cleaner is being wragged to death in the pantry and will probably be on most of tomorrow at this rate, there’s a fair bit to sort out! And clean!
It appears they’ve been opened before as there’s new screws on the top and bottom but no evidence of any internal intrusion. That being said there are various o rings in places they shouldn’t be in the spindles etc. just bobbing about not doing anything as they’re too big and just bob up and down the arms so someone’s faffed about.

I presume because I need four of the metal float retaining clips that live in the bowls they’re dearer than diamonds and rarer than hens teeth? Can anybody help?
