An early Christmas present to myself was this 1965 Triumph Tiger T100ss. It's the wrong colour for 65 and has non standard bits on it. Some other parts needed so needs a little bit of work before riding.
Bought it from a mate who's kept it in his living room for the last 5 years. 👍😁

I loved my Triumph Twenty-One I have long since forgotten the model range specs was the Tiger a tweaked version of the Speed Twin - I thought they would be twin carbs?
Still a nice bike no doubt with the free bum & finger vibration massage if is like my 21 was, oil leaks asside I love the bath tubs.

Hi Ted. The Tiger has a little more power than the Speed Twin, an enormous 34 hp as standard! The later Daytona was twin carb with bigger valves and a few hp more.
The Tiger is quite torquey and great to ride on the twisties. 😁

On the Triumph front I’ll be selling a 1959 Triton (currently fully dismantled) in the new year if anybody is interested. I’ll be needing the cash for a future venture wholly unrelated to motorcycles……

Depends a lot on engine, gearbox,frame and most important cost. I usedto be able to buildan oiltight Triumph in the 70's but may have lost the knack, plus parts are now dearer than old Honda ones

Yep, lovely 500 that’s is. I’ve always maintained that the 500 is a nicer ride than the 650 and 750.
For those who might be interested pm me for details. But basically it’s a sound pre-unit t110 dynamo model with brand new unopened Morgan 750 conversion and oil pump.Slick shift 4 speed. Wideline frame with new Norvil forks, bushes etc. Original wide hubs with Akront rims. Brand new Norvil twin leader, Andy Molnar racing seat and guards. The more I describe it the more I feel like hanging on to it :-\

There are a few tricks to putting Morgo barrels on a pre unit, i did it in 76, hapy tohel anybody out.

Sorry not Akronts; the rims are original Borrani flanged - very nice. Plus alloy fuel tank and oil tank, swept backs and thruxton type silencers. It’s all there.

Lovely Triumph. Had a few Triumphs in my time, nice bikes.
Think you should keep and restore the Triton. Piece of history

I bought a couple of Triumphs when all my mates were turning Japanese. A T90 and then a new T100C (£399). Hope yours turns out better than my experiences as an incompetent 17-19yr old. The T100 needed a rebore at 15 months and used more oil than mates GT380.
Followed up with 500/4 and never bought British again.

A very sensible modification to the carbs. Fitting Japanese carbs is frowned upon by the Triumph owners club for some reason. Really helps with running and starting though.

I think you know the only thing to do is to restore the Triton. I am in the middle of restoring mine now. Just purchased a set of 'comfort clip-ons' and Tickle replica headlamp brackets in stainless from Simon at Barleycorn engineering. I have a set of Morgo barrels to fit and modified for me by Miles at Morgo who removed one fin (it's a Dave Degans Dreada unit engine).

That's a stunner Phil, Loving the blue one you have too, DONT SELL IT!!!! they'll probably be far too much money for me to tackle when I get round to getting one. My ex had a 2006 T100, what a hoot but found it a bit sanitary, the older thumpier ones always appealed to me and I'd love to have a go at one!

Thanks, but I sold it after someone offered me a lot of money. Another should have kept it bike. Like lots of folk, I have had a few of those. Restored them over about a year, then run for a while, then gone. The whole thing repeats.
Still, I have had some nice bikes and have a few now. 8)
