Just changed my F1 engine oil and oil filter today. With the engine hot I drained the oil tank, engine sump and oil filter housing. Took just under 3 litres of oil to refill it to the top mark on the dip stick although the sticker on the oil tank states engine oil capacity 3.5 litres. Have I missed something or is this normal?

Hi Spitfire, maybe your rear brake master cylinder is in better condition than mine. I noticed that the front brake master cylinder is the same bore as the rear and the after market repair kit I fitted to the front uses a seal identical to the original Honda seal on the rear. So it may be possible to buy another aftermarket front kit and swap the seal on the rear master cylinder with the seal supplied in the front after market kit I noticed on an earlier post you renewed your front caliper piston, I could do with renewing mine as well, because at the moment I can only use half worn brake pads keeping the outer corroded part of the piston away from the seal. If you still have your old caliper piston please could you measure it for me? Thanks for that, I already bought the correct genuine Honda rear master cylinder kit for an F1, but it differs from the original factory fitment and will not seal correctly. The seal that fits onto the piston is narrower than the original seal. When assembled it sits slightly further back on the exposed corroded part of the master cylinder bore. Not exactly the same fairing as mine though. The edges are flared out a bit on yours. I wonder what make it is? Probably not Rickman/Honda Style.

Good web site at Z1 enterprises, they detail the length of two different clutch cables listed for the F1. The smaller of the two will do me just fine Thank you Mick.

Have a look for US spec F1 cables, their bars are higher and wider, should be able to find something on the CMS NL or David Silver websites.

Thanks for that, but I think the US spec cable might be a bit too long. The US spec bars seem quite high and wide compared to mine. I see that according to frame numbers there are two different cables listed on www.cmsnl.com for the F1 anyone know what the difference is?

Hi, my CB750F1 handle bars are a touch wider and taller than standard which makes the clutch cable stretch when on full left lock. Anyone know of a good source for slightly longer clutch cables?

Hi, freight will not be an issue whatsoever, I shall be arriving in the UK by ferry to Hull on 18.2.2010 and will bring the fairing with me if anyone wishes to purchase. I will be driving north up the A1/M and could arrange to deliver or meet a prospective buyer en route. I see the picture of your bike looks like it has the same fairing, maybe you had experience with the cracked screen problem before?

anyone interested in buying a Hondastyle CB750F 3/4 length fairing removed from my F1? (I think that those fairings were manufactured by Rickman and sold through Honda dealers as genuine Honda stuff).

Do you mean a bigger sprocket will fit in OK if I don't use a super HD or 'O' ring chain with it?
