I change mine every 1,500 miles, I do about 2,000 miles a year. Strangely though last time I changed it I couldn’t get anything like the 3-5 litres drained out of it.

I have just done the underside of both of my mudguards, I derusted as much as possible with I think it was Kurust and painted with silver Hammerite. I’m pleased with the look but I guess only time will tell how it lasts. I never use my bike if the roads are wet or salty though.

Thanks Deano. I may still buy the bits and do it myself, just for fun! My friend is a Licensed Avionics Engineer for Virgin so am hoping he may help me if I get stuck.

Thanks Deano for taking the time to look them up. That’s bizarre! I wonder why the green/yellow is so expensive?

Ken, I don't think the harness in the link is a straight fit for the 400. The green wire should have female spade and not a female bullet. Also not that it would stop it working, the 400 is a brown wire not a brown / white. Having said that, a minor mod and it will do the job.

Bradders, I'll check tomorrow if you want.
Thanks Delano that would be good.

Not 100% sure I haven't got a spare one lying around somewhere Bradders.
That would be good if you have one for sale in your store Oddjob.

Thanks for the info Ted. How do I tell what gauge/ ampage I need and I’m embarrassed to say I don’t know how to solder!

Thanks for your replies guys. I know less than Zilch about wiring although would like to have a go. Where would I buy the wiring and connectors etc? I guess I would need to get hold of a crimping tool?

CB350/400 / Rear mudguard/fender wiring harness.
« on: November 21, 2023, 07:15:40 AM »
Morning. I am in the process of derusting and treating my rear mudguard and have removed the original wiring harness that runs under the mudguard. My question is, does anyone know is it possible to purchase a new wiring harness ( the one that runs under the mudguard) rather than a complete harness for the whole bike? It seems the ideal time to change it?
