I must admit more people looked at mine
And you can't beat retro bikes .....this old honda really does get plenty of attention when I'm out on it I guess you really don't see to many around And it does make me chuckle that most of these "adventure bikes" never really see wet weather...let alone a bit of mud...... 846

Are these bikes really this small
I,just had a run out to Guildford on my standard 500/4 and when I parked up I looked back at the bike as I normally do.... And this is what I saw There is no photoshop on this and the picture was taken pretty much square on..... That other bike is massive or mines tiny (perhaps a bit of both) Anyway it made me feel like I was 16 again parking my moped next to the real bikes at the train station going to tech? 847
I saw this and thought of you???

As some of you might know from the USA site I had a bit of a lock up at 30ish mph ?
The chain guard got eaten by the front sprocket and jammed solid....this is the aftermath The link below tells the story of the bike http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=118045.0 So after finding out all parts were obsolete and with much thanks to Bryanj I managed to make a new push rod and sort the cable attachment out as they took the most beating? So I was left with just a chain gaurd to sort out..I tried an standard plastic one on I had spare and it just didn't look right .....I couldn't see one on the net that I thought would do the job and I definately did not want to spend any money on the wrong one.... So I thought I would have ago at making one??? So from this To this? To finally this? I was happy until I saw the final picture and now I think it looks abit low at the front .....so I might have to jack it up abit.....but I like the fact it's a solid connection as it seems that was the weak point on the last one So now after the best weekend we have had I'm back on the road 849

The white screens not a problem....
It's just nice to know if the pm is sent.... Even nicer if the free tax gets to 1975 then both ny 500's would qualify Although I looked last night and my st 70 is now free tax so that's 15 quid saved I suppose 851

Hi
What happened to the bike I know it was a few weeks back? Did you sell it or are you parting it out as we speak? I'm only 20 mins up the road from you......could do with a few bits Or would have the whole bike,if its still around 852

Hi Bryan I made it over
Do you know if it is a rolling date now so next year it will be 1975 bike then 76 etc so more in line with age then a fixed cut off date... And one other thing I pm a message tonight and I also had a odd white screen appear? 854

I'm new on this site but have been posting on the USA site for some reason and then bumped into Bryanj....who helped me out with a small issue I had so I thought I would post the link to,what has been going on on that site....
I have an old 70's racer built by hadleigh custom and a few phill joy tweaks And a standard 500/4 that I just had to have to go with the racer? Plus a shed full of other bikes mostly Hondas but some Brit stuff slung in with it? Here's the links to my racer story..please look I brought the bike from a barn in Essex untested and no paper work ....and I have since found out almost all the history of it just because a distinctive tank and a few Hadleigh custom stickers..quite a tale??? http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=118045.0 And here's the one for the issue I had that Bryan helped with http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=123629.0 |
