Hi guys!

Thanks for all the feedback, going to try those out. Got a set of Davida gauges, yes, worth their weight in gold!

Away on business for the week, but will get some time next week to try the suggestions out...

I'll come back to the forum with how it goes  :)

Best rgds,

Paul

Hi Mate,

Had same problem with mine (1972 K series). On mine the old regulator was shot, so I upgraded it to an electrix world one. http://www.electrexworld.co.uk
and http://www.slickschoppers.com/TechArticles/DOHC_Regulator_Rectifier.htm for more info. I fitted the DOHC one rather than the SOHC because it seemed easier to wire in.

CB750 / Adjusting air screws makes no difference
« on: March 24, 2010, 09:31:00 PM »
Hi all,

Now the CB750 is back on the road, I'm trying to fine tune it. After a good ride out to get it nicely warmed up, I attempted to adjust the air/fuel mixture screws on the carbs. Currently their all 3/4 of a turn out, but adjusting them is making no difference at all!. My understanding is I need to adjust them until the engine idle speed increases then turn back the idle speed with the main adjuster.

Any ideas why adjusting the mixture screws is making no difference?

Best regards,

Paul

Hi all,

Looking forward to hearing more about the UK availability of Hondaman's book!.

He got my bike back on the road and MOT'd (figuratively speaking, gave me some good advice on SOHC4.net) so be a nice way to repay him and get what will no doubt be a great book!

Best regards,

Paul

Hi Yoshi,

Going to give this a go myself, any advice (particularly what you did to modify the speedo drive) is greatly appreciated

Hi all,

May 9th you say?, I'll be there (I love box hill!).

Whats more, I'll be there on the CB as she now has a brand new, shiny MOT!.

Passed with flying colours, not even an advisory.

Took her for a fly about the back roads, its so good to be back on a bike again! (not had one which worked for at least 7 months! ).

The tone from those exhausts is fantastic! (if you ignore the occasional "phut" from cylinder 2 ;) ).

I'll put some more pictures up later and continue chatting to you all in the main forums

Best regards,

Paul

One of the members, Yoshi823, told me about the UK SOHC site (been posting to the US SOHC4.net) so glad to come back over to this side of the pond and post here! :).

Been into bikes since my earlier teens (I'm 36 now), mostly the restoration side.

Had more bikes than I can remember, but mostly into Italian exotica (namely Ducati's, I'll start dodging the rotten tomato's!).

Restored a few Honda's, love there relative simplicity and parts availability. Working on a 70's Honda and a 70's Brit is like working in two different time zones! :).

Currently got a "bitsa", but primarily CB750K2 based restoration that I've sympathetically turned into a Carpy'esc "Cafe Racer" (no offence Carpy!, I'll never match your skills!).

Looking forward to chatting with you all on the forum!

Best regards,

Paul
