CB750 / 750F2 clatter
« on: August 28, 2021, 02:56:32 PM »
Hi all
Ive a 22000 mile 750 F2 and ever since ive had it it makes a lite clattering noise when ticking over at around 1100 rpm noise seems to disappear when around 2k rpm and above, it sounds louder from the clutch than any other part of the motor and makes no difference when pulling the lever, ive been told it coud be the primary chain , i always thought it was normal but ive heard other 750s that  dont do it, has any one else experienced a similar noise

CB750 / 750 f2 gearing
« on: August 22, 2020, 03:05:05 PM »
Hi all,

After recently aquiring a 1977 cb750f2 im over the moon with it, yes it has a few things i want to do to it but over all it starts on the button and idles once warm, however when riding it seems to take ages to gain decent speed both rev counter and speedo seem to climb slowly, im beginning to think it may be over geared, the bike rolls freely and brakes dont bind. Rear sprocket is 43 teeth not sure about front still need to remove the cover, speed wise in 5th gear its doing 60 at 4k, 75 at 5k and 90 at 6k is this right any advice will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

CB750 / F2 vibration
« on: January 25, 2017, 11:49:53 AM »
hi after finally acquiring a 1978 cb750 F2 I noticed that when ridden there was a harshness around the 5000 rpm mark, that was felt through the bum and foot rests, on inspection I found that although well lubed many of the links in the chain where seized in an up or down position I replaced the chain and sprockets and this has made a vast improvement but ive noticed that if you venture around the 5000 rpm or above mark you lose the smoothness of the lower rev range and there is a buzzing from the foot pegs, nothing major but all the same its not there below these revs, so ... is this normal for a 78 F2, mileage is 25000  :-\

CB750 / insuring a cb750
« on: October 05, 2016, 09:36:39 AM »
hi all, having at last just acquired a 1978 CB750 F2 I'm now in the process of insuring it, ive been on all the sites, ie go compare etc and when entering the details the cc comes up as 748cc and not 736cc ? on a couple of sites when I enter the registration number this comes up as 748cc but when you look on DVLA it clearly states 736cc, so my question is anyone else experienced this I even spoke to one insurer on the phone to query this and they said it was ok to insure it as 748cc I'm confused

hi all after long last ive now acquired a 1978 cb750f2, I first saw a cb750k series around 1975 as a young lad and it struck an instant chord with me although personally I prefer the looks of the F2, but none the less still a cb, other bikes in my stable are a zzr14, rd 250 ypvs import, Honda mb5, and a Kawasaki ar80 so quite a diverse range, although the cb is clean it has only done about 200 miles since the year 2000 so needs fettling and I'm sure I will pop up on the forum soon asking for help/ advice  ;D
