hi hairy git, thanks for the reply, that's a relief if they are all prone to that, i was hoping it would be a feature of the bike and nothing sinister such as shot mains or crank

CB750 / F2 vibration« on: January 25, 2017, 11:49:53 AM »
hi after finally acquiring a 1978 cb750 F2 I noticed that when ridden there was a harshness around the 5000 rpm mark, that was felt through the bum and foot rests, on inspection I found that although well lubed many of the links in the chain where seized in an up or down position I replaced the chain and sprockets and this has made a vast improvement but ive noticed that if you venture around the 5000 rpm or above mark you lose the smoothness of the lower rev range and there is a buzzing from the foot pegs, nothing major but all the same its not there below these revs, so ... is this normal for a 78 F2, mileage is 25000

hi all I'm after doing a plug change on my 750 f2, is there a tool specific to remove the centre plugs or could I get by using an 18mm box spanner which I need to obtain I can remove the outer 2 using an 18mm long reach socket but no good on pots 2 and 3

hi all thanks for the replys, I started the thread by saying "rightly or wrongly" regards changing from points to electronic ignition because I was sure that there maybe some that would prefer the points system, all through my biking life (34 years) ive only ever had one other bike that had points and I replaced those for a boyer system, I'm not a fan of points and as a personal preference prefer to have electronic ignition and never have to worry about adjusting timing replacing points etc, I also personally see it as an upgrade for the bike again only a personal preference but appreciate all the comments

thanks for the reply mike the bike, does the system work well with the stock coils, I notice with the boyer set up you also get coils with the kit

having just acquired a 1978 cb750 f2 I'm rightly or wrongly going to replace the points ignition my options are the dynatek dyna s system or a boyer bransden kit, would appreciate all opinions on what set up is best and hear from those that have done the conversion thanks in advance
